Should be a cracking Semi's line up, if Spain win tonight.

Hopefully one of the European teams can make history, by winning the World Cup outside of Europe for the first time. :)

There was nothing wrong with their win:rolleyes:...geez some people just cant let go of it can they??...they had a penalty at the end of ET...which tbh they shouldnt have had as ET had ended...but the refs are becoming more and more inconsistent as the WC goes...tonights game Spain and Paraguay was a prime example of that. But as i was saying they had a penalty and he missed...Suarez got red carded and sent off so misses the next game which is a massive blow for them. And yes they were lucky but so were a lot of other teams;)
 
Much as i hate to admit it, i honestly think Germany have looked the best team in the last few games by far.

I think they will win there 4th World cup

Ghana wouldn't have had that chance to win if the free-kick hadn't been given in the first place. On that, has anyone proved it should have been a free-kick? I remember watching it and agreeing at the time with the view of the **** commentators that Adiyiah tripped himself up.

Anyway, I desperately want a Uruguay-Germany final and would ideally like to see Uruguay win it - mostly for Oscar Washington Tabarez who would thoroughly deserve it not least for what a nice gentleman he is (and how poorly he was treated by Milan 14 years ago).

Uruguay would have won if they'd been given a penalty and had Pantsil sent off. Not to mention the fact they wouldn't have got their penalty if they hadn't cheated to win a freekick.
 
Germany vs. Netherlands in the final would be mad drama.

I can see Spain and Uruguay both getting utterly raped by Germany, only Netherlands will have a fighting chance.

Deutschland werde sieg. :D

Only controversial because the free kick preceding the handball shouldnt have been given as the guy tripped up over himself;)...people seem to forget that important bit there and Uruguay should have had a penalty through Pantsil, who should have been sent off...so its all evened itself out and im glad Ghana didnt go through because that would have been unfair on Uruguay.

Looking forward to the 2 semi's...hopefully Spain will do over Germany and Uruguay will do over the Dutch.....meaning a Uruguay and Spain final and hopefully Spain winning that although i wouldnt mind seeing Uruguay lift the WC.
 
I'm predicting a Holland v Germany final. I think Holland to beat Uruguay 2-0 and Germany to nick it against Spain by a goal. That's just my gut instinct, which so far, in the prediction league I have been participating in, have been spectacularly wrong :( ...

so Spain v Uruguay final it is...
 
Maybe we ought to keep the Uruguay/Ghana controversy discussion back in the quarter finals thread...

Anyway, I think the Netherlands will comfortably beat Uruguay and I think Germany will run rings around Spain so long as they keep David Villa under control.
 
Spain have been pretty poor. Only getting by because of Villa's goals. Germany have 2 players that could potential be 1st and 2nd in the highest scorers this world cup.

Me too.

And please stop the Ghana being cheated out of the final. Everything after the handball was by the book. What more can you ask for? Anyone you are making your own rules in football.

If you had asked Ghana "Take this penalty, score and you will be in the semi final without playing the 90 minutes" They would take it. The fact that they missed, can't blame anyone.
