*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Aye I might unsub too, though I want to try a few more story lines first. Just annoying that the class stories are slow to unlock.

And load times are really irritating me now.

You're not the only one, the load times do suck. Specially compared to bigger MMO's out there.

The stories are fun though, and I do like PvP quite a bit.
The game just has a lot of problems that scream out that EA probably rushed them. As they do.

Also here's the 5th Thread on the graphics problems. So they've exceeded over 500 pages of comments on that topic alone.

Bioware are also closing threads quite a bit, some of them offering meaningful and constructive criticisms.

People are leaving sadly, a lot of people I played with early on are gone. Hence the reason why I changed to Niman from the Exile's Crystal.

So much potential, I hope this game doesn't die out as quickly as WAR did. :(:(

I think part of the problem is people are hitting end level far too quickly. Look at other MMOs, the leveling process was much slower initially, so they had more time to actually work on proper end game content.

Here's a novel idea: have end-game content in place for when the game gets released.

The issue with a lot of modern MMOs is that they have levels in the first place.

The old school mmo's had skill tree's. Everyone started on the same level, you had nothing (or some basics skills) and you built your character from that. Your character would reflect you, what you wanted to become in the game. You could have put 100 people in a room and not one of them would have identical skills.

There was always something to work towards, if you needed to you could unlearn skill points and start a fresh.

Which in turn is biased and meaningless tbh. I don't get how anyone can tell if people are leaving or not - there are potentially millions of people playing across countless servers.

For the most part it isn't a problem, but it is annoying to see the same people posting the same rubbish over and over again, just looking for a reaction. ElliottJames being amongst the worst - didn't he say that this was his first MMO though? That would explain a lot.

You should read the rest of the posts on this page and the last couple of pages then. To be frank the only biased opinion seems to be yours. Just because someone forms an opinion contrary to yours doesnt mean theyre wrong, but avoiding 'unsubbed' posts in the last couple of weeks is impossible.

I see very few people thrilled that SWTOR is the game it is, rather than the game it could have been. I do see some denial that anyhting is wrong. The next couple of months will show which group is expressing the opinion of the majority.

I am sure most of us who were so excited about the launch would love to visit the game again in 6 months and see things smoother. Personally i think the fundamentals are wrong with way too much hope pinned on the KOTOR aspect and not enough on the MMOG. The patch next week is a start but that oesnt mean that there are not going to be a shed load of people leaving. You only need to look at server queues to see there are less people playing, and this is their 'free' period.

If youre loving the game keep playing. If you think unsub and negative posts are just looking for a rise rather than an expression of disappointment and anger, just ignore them. You might also want to skip the thread for the next 2 weeks. We'll all be gone by then.

unsubbed here also, logged in this morning and logged out after 15mins. I've levelled to 50 once as a sith assassin, doing all the flashpoints, not skipping through narrative and such. Just cant be bothered to see the same planets again. Tried as Republic and its just a mirror of the empire, even the quests are pretty much the same just renamed so far upto Tatooine.

Because as in WoW (excluding twinks), the lower level PvP will be deserted.

To be fair, I think that depends how well its done. Take Daoc for example, widely regarded as the best factional PvP MMO ever, that had battlegrounds which were banded and the lower level battlegrounds in that were often actually the busiest. Many people made alts specifically to participate in the lower level battlegrounds and would xp lock themselves so that their characters could remain in those lower level battlegrounds indefinitely.

When I saw some posts on here saying the PvP was really balanced I decided to have another go at PvP...Ridiculously unbalanced.

Too many stuns which last WAY too long, and games usually end up being decided by how many level 50's are on each team, rather than skill or co-ordination.. Can't wait for 1.1 so I can finally get some slightly decent PvP.

I agree with RAVE, you keep telling us how bad the game is and that you have unsubbed and you have stopped playing but you still post on here looking for a reaction. If you hate it so much stop coming here and typing ***** as we not really interested, well i'm not!!

I didn't give an opinion ;) - I will just wait for the facts.

Well in this case i dont think anybody would mind us being wrong. Means we'll have something to come back to in a couple of months once theyve ironed out problems. Dunno if i can face going through the whole quest line again though.

Some servers have gone from amazing population to about 18 people on fleet at peak times, not Niman of course. It's causing a lot of distress for some people about whether to stick around and wait for more people/server merges/server changing or reroll.

This isn't a one time instance either, these poor people are literally unable to form teams because the complete lack of people and/or witness an almost empty trade market as well, as far as their concerned the games dying on that server.

But people often forget that not all servers are the same and game experiences vary.
