I've just managed to pre-order mine. Debian has already been loaded onto a SD card for when it arrives. I'm just a little bit excited!

Mine came through at 14:12 and have ordered mine. Just need to source an SD card, Linux compatible wireless/Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, micro USB power supply and a component video cable so I can show this to boss at work.

It'd be helpful if both Farnell and RS Components could show us the actual parts in the bundle pack and the price. It'd be nice to know if its financially competitive to buy that instead of individually sourcing the parts.

I like the look of that. Was wondering where I'd get a case just the right size and shape for the board. Hopefully it won't be too expensive to get it bought and delivered. I want to show this off at work (London high school) so to be able to unpack the board to show the students what it looks like inside, before re-packing it to use it would be a bonus for the case.

What capacity SD card have you got? I think 4GB is what people are getting. Did you find/use any technical instructions on how to load Debian onto the SD card?

I've got a 32GB one just so i can use the extra space as local storage if i need to. I followed this video on how to get Debian all setup and installed

Doubt it would be of any use on quads as they have practically zero surface area compared to large gliders. People have done it on planes, not sure how it has worked out.

I was thinking that 4GB is probably enough to run the OS from but more capacity would be needed to save files etc. Although there's a FAQ on the Raspberry Pi site saying the board needs an SD card to boot up but then a USB HDD could be used. So I suppose getting a hub and connecting some kind of external disk could work as well.

In what respect? Atom mb's are in completely different price brackets.

At the moment its pre-order from either Element 14 (Farnell offshoot I think) or RS Components. The memory is now the same on both models. Initially Model A was going to have 128MB RAM, 1 USB socket and no Ethernet port. Model B was going to have 256MB RAM, 2 USB and an Ethernet port. Models A and B now will both have 256MB RAM.

I agree with you on the supporting the idea. It may not work but no-one else is doing anything as well publicised or as cheap and its worth backing it to help it along.
