Spec me a whiskey glass.

I like the Normann Copenhagen Whisky Glasses, which are around £15 each. Unfortunately they only seem to come in pairs so out of the price range you were after.

I alternate between a big heavy bottomed one, the more rounded branded ones you see around, a straight forward crystal cut tumbler or a wine glass.

As long as it has a fairly decent circumference then you'll be fine. My whisky tends to be stored quite cold so the wine glass is perfect as I can heat the drink up gently with my hands.

Ultimately, spend less on the glass and more on the liquid going into it. Bonkers to drink Bells out of a £50 whisky glass, but it's totally fine to drink Glen Garioch out of a 99p Tesco glass.

I find a jar from Nutella quite good for whisky.

Of course you have to eat a jar of Nutella first... ¬_¬

I have a set of cut crystal and some thin walled 10 sided glasses, both are fine.

It's a glass dude, you could drink out of an old bean can and it's still gonna taste the same.

Go to any shop which sells glassware, any department store, cookware shop. Anywhere like that, they will have glassware, look and choose what you like. This is a matter of personal taste and not performance, spec me threads like this annoy the hell out of me.

I really like my square JD glass, tis nice and heavy.
think theyt're in morissons for a tenner with a 35cl bottle of JD

Not just whiskey tho I drink all sorts out of it :p

Just picked one of these up the other day actually. Also as a 'cheap' whisky glass I think it's well worth it, very good.

As you said, I could drink out of a can and it will taste the same (well, probably not from a can) but I was looking for something that is aesthetically pleasing as I drink, I don't care about how it feels in my hand, etc.

I just wanted a good looking one for a good price that I can order on the net, I'm not going to go out looking for one especially. Too much effort.

Grump :)

Too right as well mate. Savouring a nice whisky is about the whole experience, not just the taste.

That's just wrong. Drinking whisky out of a narrow glass will give a slightly different flavour to drinking it out of a wide one as you'd take in less of the aromas. Similar things happen with a straight sided glass compared to a bowel.

I agree. I get quite annoyed in pubs when they have a good selection of whisky on offer but when you order one they give it to you in a highball glass. Not only does it change the way you drink it but you lose a load of drink in the glass as well!

I couldn't drink out of a plastic or wooden cup! :D

Compared to a what!? :eek::D

Poppycock, unless you're drinking it from something with a tiny opening like a champagne flute or a bottle then it makes no difference.
