You are spending a lot of time in this thread for someone who "can wait" :p

How many times have you been in shop to or whatever and hovered over the pre order button?

None, actually not even searched for it in any shopping websites.

1 - I never pre-order electronic goods, yet if I want it on launch day, I always seem to get it the first store I walk into at lunch time or after work, always.

2 - I am on holiday on launch week so can't even play with it even if I do have it.

Greboth just get an xbox. I will miss you

Awwww I love you too :D

As I said I wont be switching straight away so you will have to live without me for a while anyway. I would quite like to carry on playing with the people I currently do from here and from memory Fr0dders is xbox, soulja is both, pj I don't know at a guess both, Fango no idea, you are getting xbox. Who have I missed out? So on that basis I am getting an eegbox.

Edit: Wydro and Konvict I Can't remember either.

Stop being a girl and get the eggbox on release!

I can't decide any of the games to get at launch, well, except assassin' screed black flag, but no way I am buying a console to play a game...I can wait a bit longer.

I kinda wished they did the dual release thing with GTA as well.

I'd buy Grand Theft Auto again on the PlayStation 4, I have fingers crossed they're doing an updated version for the new PlayStation with improved visuals and performance :).

I've pre ordered FIFA as it's the only football game on the new console, but I can not decide on what else.

I'm tempted by BattleField 4, but I want to use that as an excuse to to upgrade my 660 card to a 780 Ti :p and get it on PC. I suppose I could get it on both.

LEGO Marvel Super Hero's looks good, as does Knack, but I'm not sold on either. I wouldn't mind picking up Madden either.

I have a feeling I'll end up getting BattleField 4 on both PC & PlayStation 4 and LEGO :) as well as FIFA, but I'll hold off buying more games until Christmas as I won't have time to play and enjoy them.

Interesting to read that after the fuss about COD being 1080p on PS4 vs 720P on XO is seems reviewers are noticing frame rate problems on PS4 version.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2013/11/05/reviewers-are-reporting-frame-rate-problems-with-call-of-duty-ghosts-on-ps4/

There's a few reviews quoted in the blub including.

Joystiq: ”A key pillar of the Call of Duty experience has always been rock-solid 60 frames per seconds gameplay. On Xbox 360, Ghosts maintains this mandate. The PlayStation 4 version, however, has noticeable technical issues, sometimes slowing to a crawl, particularly during set-piece moments with multiple effects. One specific moment I was able to replicate multiple times on PS4 was a campaign scene that ran smoothly on Xbox 360 and PS3, while the game chugged On PlayStation 4. These frame rate hitches happen throughout the campaign on PS4 and, in a series known for its Hollywood-inspired bombast, it detracted from the experience.”

Just goes to maybe show that more isn't always best!

Infinity Ward have said that juggling next-gen versions as well as PS3/Xbox 360 has been a pain in the bum. They simply haven't put the work in. When you can see Killzone running at 1080p60, the PS4 hardware is definitely not at fault.

Agreed. If the Xbox One version runs smoothly, perhaps they should have had the PS4 version at 720/900p to make sure it was just as smooth.

According to the videos on youtube and some comments made the XB1 versions runs even worse. I have even some PC owners with very high end GPU (Titans in SLi) are having some frame rate issues on the PC version, just seems a poorly optimised game for nextgen/PCs.

That makes me glad it's not a game I'm interested in even remotely.

Infinity Ward not putting the work in? Why is that not a surprise!

I see now someone has mentioned the PS4 and *gasp* PC might have some problems we're switching from Xbox One is appalling to Infinity Ward haven't tried very hard? Colour me surprised :p

Right, this whole attitude of lazy developers/not putting the work in, ****es me off a lot.

Do people not realise the tight deadlines they work to? Throw in the whole developing across 6 different platforms as well, and what can you expect? There is only so many people who work there and only so many hours in the day.

I see where you are coming from but this is the gaming industry's second biggest franchise (after GTA?) so surely they have a duty to get it right. Why not hire more people? It's not as if they've not got the money. Or is it a case of greedy Activision hogging all the profits?

Not enough work then!

You make a very good point, they have such tight deadlines things will invariably slip through and unfortunately the people who come up with the release date are without doubt at odds with the developers and designers who like much longer to deliver a more polished product.

It just seems that some studios release a more finished product than others at times.

Never underestimate just how much pressure publishers can put on the developers to get a game out for a particular date. Right now must be horrible for developers who have to try to get their games running smoothly on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and sometimes the Wii U as well. It can't be easy trying to do that while at the same making sure they hit a particular release date.

Looking forward to the first round of third party titles that are purely for the PS4 and XB1. Forza and Killzone show what can be done and without development teams being spread so thinly it will be interesting to see what can be done.

Well if you're offering, don't mind if I do :p

I want to upgrade to next gen but ultimately there is no real reason for me to do so and I am content to stick with current gen while I finish all the games I already have.

I know you are going to miss me, just remember when in party chat on next gen to mute your mic so people don't hear you sobbing.

I can't help but chuckle...

"COD on XO is 720p due to performance issues - that's because Xbox One sucks!!"

as opposed to...

"COD on PS4 is bogging down and has significant frame rate problems due to performance issues - that's because of bad coding and Infinity Ward sucks!!"

;) :D

To be fair cross platform & cross gen at the same time was always going to be nightmare to code for.

<conspiracy theory>Wouldn't surprise me at all if Sony pushed IW to keep COD at 1080p on PS4 for a headline and hope that by the time people notice it has big performance issues it gets swallowed by other launch news. Of all the consoles having set out their stall about how powerful PS4 is it would have been a real blow if one of the first games had to be the same res as previous gen. XO got enough fuss, you can only imagine if PS4 had the same problem, clever Sony marketing again leaving the XO to take the bad headlines maybe? According to the Marc Rubins interview XO was 1080p until a month or so ago and they decided the all up result was better going for 720p and using the hardware upscaling. If the reports of performance problems on PS4 are accurate I can't imagine they didn't have a similar conversation with Sony.</conspiracy theory> :)
