Project: Mistress

Yeah I am starting to think the same to be honest, dual cards won't be an option since I only game at 1920x1080 which is plenty for me (plus can't afford a monitor which does 2560x1440 :D)

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gainward GeForce GTX 780 Phantom 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £379.99
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor & Corsair H100i CPU Cooler Bundle £349.90
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £137.99
1 x Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £119.99
1 x Avexir Venom Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-17200C9 2133MHz Dual Channel Memory Kit (AVD3U21330904G-2CIG) - Green Light £79.99
1 x BitFenix Shinobi USB3.0 Gaming Windowed Case - Black/Green £59.99
Total : £1,141.94 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Gone back to the Shinobi since it's a cheapish case but looks decent.

I would go for the EVGA 780

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 780 SC ACX Superclock 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (03G-P4-2784-KR) £389.99
Total : £399.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The Bitfenix Ghost offers you better drive flexibility (those three 2.5s can be expanded to 3.5s), it is at the cost of one bay. You also get silencing thrown in, which would be good if it's up on your desk and you don't care about a window.

The warranty on the CPU in that rad bundle is only 1 year. For the retail version, you get 3 years warranty and a spare fan/heatsink (handy in case the H100i doesn't work/stops working). And, at the moment, the CPU by itself is reduced till Wednesday morning which makes buying it and the H100i individually, cheaper than the actual bundle.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £245.99
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060009-WW) £99.95
Total : £355.54 (includes shipping : £8.00).

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i7-4770K 3.50GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor & Corsair H100i CPU Cooler Bundle £349.9
Total : £359.50 (includes shipping : £8.00).

If OcUK could hold the order for you till you decide on everything else, then you'd save on shipping too.

This case is pricey but a great-looking beast:

YOUR BASKET
1 x NZXT Phantom 630 High Performance Modular Ultra Tower Case - Black £145.99
Total : £155.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The fan blades could be painted green, although I reckon white also matches that mobo.

Thanks for all the input guys this is why I love this forum! As I said I'm not in a huge rush so I can get the most for my money but if stuff is on some stupidly good deal then I will probably pick it up.

Since I only game at 1920x1080 would it be worth dropping to the 770 instead of the 780?

Probably be worth putting a spec me thread in GH, someone on there will spec you well.

Get an Evga 780 ACX. You won't regret it for a couple of years.

I had the same thought as I was checking some stuff for what you have in mind, Stoner. There's even an EVGA GTX 770 with a nice backplate to hide the PCB and strengthen the card.

YOUR BASKET
1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC ACX Dual Bios 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE EVGA Backplate (02G-P4-2776-KR) £269.99
Total : £279.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Some fans you may or may not have seen:

YOUR BASKET
1 x BitFenix Spectre PRO 200mm Green LED - Black £15.95
1 x BitFenix Spectre PRO 140mm Green LED - Black £13.99
1 x NZXT FZ-140 Airflow Fan Series, Green LED - 140mm £12.98
Total : £48.90 (includes shipping : £4.98).

True, well worth noting though.

Considering you won't have to do anything to the Ronin.. (another good case choice (under £100).

Now that is one nice looking case! I don't really fancy doing any modding of cases I just don't know how and don't want to ruin a perfectly good case.

@ Danny75

The price difference between the 780 and the 770 is huge but will see what I can get together. Will put together another build tomorrow sometime (hopefully).

All you will need is a drill make some new holes for the cooler to offset it so that it doesn't hit the VRM heatsinks and move the rubbers to the new locations :) you could then get a dust filter to cover the fact that you have done this......

Personally if its just a gaming rig, this would be ideal:

YOUR BASKET
1 x KFA2 Geforce GTX 770 EX OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (77XPH6DV6KXZ) £259.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor - OEM £169.99
1 x Samsung 250GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TE250BW) £149.99
1 x Gigabyte Z87X-SLI Intel Z87 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £97.99
1 x Silverstone Tundra Series TD02 Liquid CPU Cooler £83.99
1 x BitFenix Ronin Tower Case - Black £69.95
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-19200C10 2400MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99
5 x Alpenföhn 120mm Wing Boost Plus PWM Fan - Black & White £12.95 (£64.75)
Total : £966.23 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Black/white theme.

Add cables to make it look more awesome. :)

Ronin is OOS, but is the best choice IMO.

I'd get this, you've got raid drives for amazing speeds, lsi evga 770's both with backplates, just an all round nice build.

Just typical! Our washing machine has died on us so I'm going to have to sort out a new one so this project is semi on hold until I can some more funds sorted out. I still have some left but won't be able to buy everything at the moment :(

I will keep you all updated though :)
