Sleeping Dogs Bench Thread

On the third run through my pc restarted Lol. That bench was taken from the second run through.

PSU OCP kicked in. According to my meter my PSU is good up to around 800W. After that it in sleeping dogs at least, shuts off. Shame as the gpu's are willing, infact they seem perfectly stable at these clocks and i think i might be able to under volt a little bit. Time will tell.

I know how it feels, three 290Xs flattened my 1200i PSU.:D

Are you going to grab a bigger PSU ?

I'll start saving the pennies. Might keep an eye out for a second hand one on the MM. Guess ill need at least 850W, probably 1000W. It would only be for benching purposes though as ill always game at stock. That part makes me think its not worth it, but we'll see. I said not long ago i wouldn't even be overclocking and now look at me. :p

You can never have too much power.

once my kraken g10 arrives will be overclocking a little so hopefully can improve on that

OK I got a Sleeping Dogs bench related issue not sure if anyone can help.

Basically the vrm1 temp of my 290x is very high hitting as high as 115C (with +100mV on the voltage and overclocked to close to 1200MHz) when benching this for just one run, but in Metro2033 bench the vrm1 temp is only hitting around 86C max after 5 loops. Does anyone with increased the voltage and overclock also get much higher vrm1 temp and in this bench than everything else?

I have the Gelid cooler on my 290x (GPU temp is not an issue, only hitting around 75-76C max), and at first I thought the default vrm-sink was pants with the vrm1 temp hitting around 127C, so I bought the Alpenföhn sinks. I got it fitted today...it dropped the temp down to 115C...but I think it's still too high?

Sleeping Dogs AMD evolved shocker

4 x 290Xs are slower @1080p than 2 x GTX 690s

Just ran my four 290Xs and this is what I got at stock and overclocked, no difference.

4 X 290Xs @1000/1250

4930k @4.7

Not all bad news though, I also ran this @1600p overclocked.

4 x 290Xs @1160/1600

4930k @4.7

Much better.:D

There is some really bad CPU bottlenecking going on @1080p

Four stock Titans

4 x Titans @837/1502

3930k @4.7

The Titans are the same as the 290Xs, there is no point in overclocking them on this bench as there is no improvement lol.

No, but consistent :) A lot of data to flung around with the big boy screens. Ivy-E may be helping out a wee bit at that res. If you consider clock for clock, I was looking at some of the Firestrike physics scores I'm on level fields with 4.9Ghz 3930 when at 4.7

That is a very strange one and would imagine if the clocks are consistent of 1100Mhz for instance, the VRM would be working as hard in both bench runs. on the 7970, the VRM's were rated for 120C according to the white paper but not sure what the 290/X has them rated at and can't find any info. Was it not just a fluke run? Did you check it again on both runs?

115c is still within tolerance 120c + is when you should worry on prolonged use. They're built to the same spec on most AMD cards AFAIK. Metro bench is junk, and if you did a run even with SSAA it 'only' applies 2x on the benchmark.

Sleeping Dogs Extreme bench is post FXAA with SSAA 4X so will put a lot more strain on the card than the former
