Sniper Elite V3 Benchmark

no, the card is clocked via Heaven only and then backed off for gaming, i never adjust it to suit any one game..........all games !!!!!

if i want more FPS then i'd buy another card next month

Huh? I think you misunderstand :)

As I'm sure you know, people often try and OC as much as they can for a benchmark. I was just remarking that this particular bench lets me get away with higher clocks than I'd normally manage in other benchmarks and was wondering if anyone else had found that to be the case for them too.

We all have everyday clocks for general use.

aahh ..........well yes because SE 3 wont tax your rig much anyway, SE 3 is about the same as Serious Sam BFE :D

my GPU is backed off at least 50% for gaming, even so i'm not happy with 61fps so it looks like SLI .............. mind you, i never use 4X sampling anyway

Yeah, it's not hugely demanding considering a single card can get decent enough frames at effectively 4k with 4xAA on top.
Still, I was seeing pretty much 100% usage across two cards at these settings fwiw.

Doubt you need SLI if you're happy with the one card in everything except this bench at these settings.

What are your clocks (inc boost) btw?

well the real test will be Metro Last Light  so i might take a look at that tomorrow and if it's much worst than 61 FPS then i'll deffo get SLI

Asus Strix = 1214 clock.............1866 mem.............1353 boost
so up approx 100 on each, but the Voltage cant be raised at all or it'll crash....it also has the fans at default and the power boost at default too, so as said, it's not exactly overclocked that far.

Depends how much you like the look or notice the difference with SSAA really. Physx will give a bit of a hit too if you want that on.

With all that, you probably will want another card. If not, one'll do fine.

ED: Your card is voltage locked?

Do we have a Metro LL benchmark thread?
I think so, now that you mention it... Pretty sure I posted in there actually.
Dunno if it really took off.

ED: By the power of search; http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18512592&highlight=metro+light
Not exactly an organised bench thread though.

no you can adjust it but if you do it crashes instantly...well mine does anyway
One of the other 9** users can hopefully help you out there.

Then again, I was of the impression that they can go pretty high on just stock volts in most cases.

yes it will go high if i put the full overclock on it, plus higher too if i upped the fans to 40%, plus 120% power boost..

as said, mine is backed off a long way, but i'll probably increase it soon anyway

Remember if you post to list your clockspeeds for CPU and GPU also what drivers you are using.:)

according to the other thread i'm screwed, the Asus only has an 8pin plug and a low power draw, it cant be over volted.

I tried overclocking really high last week but it suddenly hit a brick wall.....so then i upped the voltage and it crashed instantly, increasing the fan speed/power boost made no difference.

the limit is about + 300 on everything.............mine is +100 to keep it stable, it's only about 8 fps less so it's not a deal breaker, i just feel very cheated
