Corsair Carbide Air 540 Builds

So i tied up a bit,got a PCB PWM splitter for all my fans, swapped out to cathodes and added a temp sensor looking a lot cleaner now, pretty happy:) apart from the GPU sag that is

Again excuse my awful quality camera on my phone atm :/

how to print screen on pc

I spent the last 3 weeks mulling over putting my 970 under water. My brain tells me no,even OC'ed out the eyeballs it still never exceeds 65c at 60% fan speeds. So its cool and quiet.

But my Gut says to do it anyway. The TF5 blocks a very pricy tho,and who knows how long i will keep this card :/

Thinking of maybe getting a thermosphere block,at least it would carry over along with the nessecary extra rad and fittings..Only true sunk cost would be a backplate(£20) which aint too bad.

Anyone used a thermosphere bloc?

Hey guys,

I need some advice and help on modding my case with a colour theme.

I've just bought all the parts for my built but want to go with a good colour theme/lighting and need some advice from you guys on what fans etc I should go for.

My motherboard is orange... so I would probably have to go for red, although I wanted to go from a lime green initially :(

Could someone recommend a fan controller and fans and what not for me please. Here's my build:

1 x Intel 5960X Extreme 3.00GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor - Retail (BX80648I75960X) £869.99
1 x EVGA GeForce Titan X 12288MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (12G-P4-2990) £899.99
1 x Gigabyte X99 SOC Champion Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 ATX Motherboard £218.99
1 x Kingston Predator 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 PC4-21300C13 2666MHz Quad Channel Kit - Black (HX426C13PB2K4/16) £215.99
1 x Samsung 500GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive (MZ-75E500B/EU) £164.99
1 x EVGA SuperNova G2 1000W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply £134.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - Black (CC-9011030-WW) £114.95
1 x Corsair Hydro H100i GTX 240mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (CW-9060021-WW) £101.99
1 x Western Digital Caviar Red 3TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache WD30EFRX - OEM HDD £92.99

I haven't bought a cable kit yet as I wasn't sure what colour to go for.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks

I have the same MoBo colours as you. I had installed orange tubes previously, but I've settled on white and chrome as I think it's just a better look overall.

Im considering getting one of these cases over the next few months.

I currently have a Corsair Carbide 500R which is great and has good airflow but it doesn't have a side window and now that I have seen the 540....my case looks a bit messy with the HDD cages etc.

Also, towards the end of this year im going to do an x99 build to replace pretty much the whole of my current setup minus the PSU and I want to put it under water so this case will facilitate that much easier.

What I am thinking is:
Overclockers:
Corsair Carbide Air 540 - in white
Additional dust filters
Braided Cables - white

Coldzero:
Lightbox
Motherboard plate
GPU backplates(I have 770's but will be upgrading these too)
SLI bridge

I think I will buy the case/lightbox/motherboard tray/braided cables & SLI bridge soon as all of this will transfer over.

And then the backplates will come with the rest of the actual hardware later on in the year.

Only thing I need to figure out is where to put it.....I have a quad monitor setup at the moment - three side by side and one above the middle monitor, and my current case sits behind the left monitor.

This wont work with this case so will need to figure it out soon.

Inspiring Thread for future 1st time WC'er

Hey Guys - book marking this thread as it's going to guide me quite a bit when I start my own WC project in this case. It will be my first and I know this case isn't the easiest but have seen some beautiful builds in this thread.

My case is white and most of my gear is red so thinking of going with a white colour for the liquid coolant and perhaps some red LED's.

This is going to take me a few months...

Drove from the Lakes to Glasgow to put this together for a friend
