I need to get on and watercool mine (and get on the RoH!). You have no idea how hard it is to try and ignore all the cool watercooling bits next to your desk so that you can get some assignment written... :(

Bought this card a few weeks ago & finally I can play Armored Warfare @ 2516 x 1440 pretty much maxed out so I'm very happy with my Nano :)

Finally got my Nano back from OCUK, sent me a Asus instead of an XFX but that seems like an upgrade to me! No more idle artifacts.

Just installing some benchmarks to see if this one has any less coil whine too, then to overclock!

Just ran firemark, yes there's coil whine but its so much quieter! I'll try overclocking later and hope I get a good one on that too.

Got the same card myself, no coil whine at all, for gaming clocks up to 1055 core, 545 Vram, 100% power limit , stock Vcore, 65% fan speed. I use afterburner and have had no probs at all with this software at all. Only issue is the fan sounds a bit noisy but thats the nature of the beast.:)

Hi guys, I've got a Vive and I have a feeling this card is holding me back by possibly throttling during games. Is there a simple over clock procedure I can do to get a wee bit more from the card or have I made a fundamental mistake getting this card?

This card is a furyX. So you need to resolve the cooling issue.
try some setting people posted before by reducing the power draw. It lowers the heat and doesn affect the perfomance

Check to make sure it actually is throttling first - go download Afterburner and set clocks to show in the OSD. That'll give you the indication.

These cards, well mine anyways, tends to throttle at about 80c-82c. I confirmed this while running heaven benchy in windowed mode and MSI afterburner to overclock the card to 1055 core, mem stock, voltage stock, power limit 100%, and watching the gpu core speed start to waver and then start to drop, and it can drop by about 25-50mhz so the performance is really gonna suffer. I cured this by increasing the fan to 100% (strewth it is loud at that setting!), but I saw the temps didn't go above 72c, and the gpu core speed held at a rock solid 1055. So, as Panos says, keep the temps down and you're good to go:).

Sadly one of my Nanos has gone to the great GPU in the sky after just two months, complete with flashing blocks of coloured garbage on the screen. That's the quickest I've had a card fail in a long time :(

Whay, I can finally join the RoH (though the thread seems quiet), as I somehow got a full refund on my two year old R9 290.

I'm ordering an EK waterblock to go with it, hoping to do some magic to reduce the coil-whine soon. Looking forward to it arriving.

Hi guys,

I was playing with the Nano overclocks, and I realised that if I set the fan speed to Fixed at 0% in Trixx, I can overclock the Nano all way to 1130 core /1100 VRAM. (I can boot at 1170 but Idk how far I can push the mv so leaving it to +8mv).

If I set it to default fan, I cannot go more than 1060/1000.

FYI I have watercooled the Nano so the onboard fan regulator is not needed.
Can someone else with watercooled nano confirm that peculiarity?

Hey Panos, I'm using 2 watercooled Sapphire Nanos and tried to confirm this for you. Only thing is, it doesn't look like I can input the same settings as you in Trixx.

My default Trixx settings are:

GPU clock: 1000MHz

GPU voltage: +0mV

Power Limit: 0%

Memory Clock: 500MHz

Fan Control: Automatic

I can't however set the memory clock to 1100 MHz like you, the max that Trixx allows me to go to is 750MHz.

The Max GPU clock that trixx allows me to go to is 1700MHz, but I haven't set it that far and in fact I haven't yet found the stable overclock settings for these cards.

In fan control alternating between the fixed and default (I assume you mean automatic) options doesn't change anything as far as I can tell.

I'm using Trixx version 5.2.1. Should I be able to input the same settings as you? If I could get some clarification with what's going on on my end I might be able to replicate this peculiarity.
