** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

it already has - the palit was 599 this morning, now 630 and that is even with Gibbo saying no price rises until 3pm, added to the fact that the pound is 2% of where it was yesterday...

the pound might have another wobble later today when the US markets open, but it has been at 1.42 for weeks on the fear of a no vote, so most of the value position was already priced in to the market, some people will have a big sell off but then it'll bounce back

I'm actually taking advantage when it dips and trying to get some money back in to the UK from a couple of overseas investments

Yeah I'm seeing that now. So much for the palit staying at £599 because it was bought in £.

Fortunately stock like Palit 1080 we purchased in GBP so we can hold price at £599 and stay at or under old MSRP but the rest of 1080 range will go up £60 and all other components also effected.

I shall update prices at 15:00 today so I'm giving you time to order!

Hot air :/

I decided I want to change my Inno3Ds Twin X2s because of the power connector. Monitoring it in software I saw the power draw hit 220W which is at the limit of the single 8 pin. Decided to order my replacements this morning before the price increase, I'm glad I did. I'll sort out processing the return over the next few days.

Come on wait a few hours, I imagine it's a pretty messy situation for them - they can't change the prices every ten minutes.

I'm sure they'll do everything possible to fix prices once this thing eventually stabilises.

Yeah I wondered the same about the Pallit price.

Guess like the other thread suggested, you can't take Gibbo's word for it all the time and he's just a salesman?

Point is Gibbo said no prices were changing until 3pm unless it dropped below 1.35 and the Pallit wouldnt change at all anyway.

The GeForce GTX 1070 AMP Edition 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card has gone up by £20.

Still cheaper and in stock else where. Shame on you Gibbo and you never kept your word.
Are you related to Cameron :)

its actually not - the minifitjnr connector is rated at 9a per pin, so with 3 x 12v pins it is capable of 324w... the problem is actually the mosfet is only 30A at room temp (which obviously drops as it gets higher), you would burn out the mosefet long before the 8-pin connector became a problem

Or maybe he said something wrong? :o

You're (some people) blowing this out of proportion making OCUK sound like the worst retailer all of a sudden :p

Just a bit galling when you post that no increases until 3pm and stuff paid for in sterling wont be affected and then 20 minutes later BOOM.

Is it really out of proportion? Telling the userbase they have until 3pm to order, only to raise the price minutes later, is really shady. I think people are right to be a little irked. Especially when one of those models was said to have no price changes, regardless what happens.

Remember that Caseking probably has the last word when something this big happens, not Gibbo.

Most items are on 30-60 day Accounts so items in stock now not paid for have to go up otherwise when we pay we have a massive loss on exchange rate variance so the effect is quite immediate!
