I know but I had my two 970s with pretty much the same cooler on there and didnt have that issue with temps.

The fact that the temps on the one card dropped as far as they did with a reapplication of thermal paste is annoying though. I shouldnt have to clean up the mess left by MSI

Yeah, I've seen that quite often with GTA5. I don't plan on SLI'ing the 1080s - I will stick with the single card for the time being I think.

Did you notice if your single GTX 1080 gave a smoother performance then your SLI GTX 980ti setup ?

As I found my single GTX 1080 was giving a far smoother performance then my SLI 780ti setup . but I don't know if that was to do with my780ti only having only 3GB of vram and lower FPS..

Despite having a good old whinge about the price of these things I decided to get one anyway (well our country's politics have such a whiff of hypocrisy at the moment why the hell shouldn't I join in eh?).

Won't win any beauty contests but overclocks and boosts to 2050MHz without much bother and is a grand upgrade from my reliable GTX680.

Right. Now which 21:9 g-sync monitor should I get.......

Some newbie on one of the hardware sites here in NZ must've pushed the wrong button as the cards very momentarily came down in price before shooting back up to the normal price. In essence it came down from Overpriced to Still Overpriced but I got one anyway.

You'd love the upgrade from a GTX680.

Sold one TX so as soon as the second one sells I will be picking one up.

Can anyone with the Ichill version comment on sound levels from it? Also is that the card where the fans dont spin until it hits a certain temp?

Clock: 2075 with no fiddling.

Single card? Unlikely or you didn't set the settings properly for the run as single 1080 is getting 3000-3300 and sli is getting 4800-5100.

Check the uni gene benchmark thread for settings.

No idea. I don't usually benchmark I just shoved it on Extreme and pressed run.
