I have placed order for the: KFA2 £389
GeForce GTX 1070 EX OC 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/kfa2-...gx-091-kf.html
6pin & 8pin & got 10.1 phase power , 2 Years Warranty Enough , chances are i would have upgraded again with in 2 years.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember all the Ref - Blowers / Founders Edition is only a 4.1-phase power design & 8pin only

More phase power the better the card can handle the Power & better OC

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 ITX Edition 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (GV-N1070IXOC-8GD ) got 5.1 phase power & 1 8 pin (Super small great card & 5.1 phase power WOW)

MSI GeForce GTX 1070 GAMING X 8G 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card : got 10 phase power & 8 pin & 6 pin

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card: got 4.1 phase power & 8 pin only (Based on ref card design)

EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 FTW Gaming ACX 3.0 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card: got 10 phase power & 2 x 8 pin

KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 HOF 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card : got 12 + 3 phase power & 2 x 8pin (WOW)

KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX OC 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card: got 10 phase power & 8 pin & 6 pin (order placed £389 -Thank you OCuk

Always nice to have a massively-overbuilt card though, even if in reality it won't make a blind bit of difference to overclocking.

8 pin and 4.1 phases are all a 1070 needs to express it's 100%, everything else is marketing :)

Yep, all pascal needs is low temps to maintain a high boost clock, oh and you will need a little luck in the silicon lottery as always!

In reality pretty much all cards can do over 2ghz, and performance over and above this is really not much :)

Indeed less watts & keep cool , I placed the order for the KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX OC 8192MB being a good price & I like the body of the card with LEDs :) ,
Myself will not be OC , this card will replace my 980ti that use to much watts & makes a lot of heat in the case , Making my i7 4790k hot .

Oh yeah, well worth the wait for a Zotac Amp Extreme version..

BZl6Awu.jpg

Still to test it fully, but the quality of the build is by far the best I have experienced for a graphics card..

Got this also. But I am finding that the fans keep trying to rev up and stop once in a game. Seems others have this issue too.

The minimum I need to set the fans manually is to 31% to stop it from revving up. Anyone else here with an Zotac 1070 AMP Extreme having this issue?

Love how the fans do not even need to be on while not playing though.

Might do a mini review here later :)

Just did quick Unigine test and its clear difference from 970,will do some gaming now,but the difference is clear,1070 probably twice as fast as 970

v419nq.jpg

The picture cant show how big this card really is,i had 970 Strix and it was big,but this thing is massive. And its better quality than Asus i can say.Max temp i saw so far was 58C

Welcome and on TROH.:)

I've not even heard the fans at all while gaming to be honest, its that silent.

I've already said a few times my own personal money would also go on the Zotac Extreme, I personally feel its the best 1080 and 1070 on the market.

What is your boost clock out the box and you max overclock?

1987 max boost on factory clocks.

overclock managed +50mhz on on core clock and 300mhz on memory clock. Gives a max boost of around 2050mhz core

Is that the amp extreme version mate?

Mine came out the box boosting to 2100, then I slapped a 500OC on the memory straight away. Need to push the core up a bit to see if I can hit 2200 without any power increase.

yes thats the amp extreme. have you popped the voltage up at all or is yours just adding to mem and gpu clock?

Going to get some use out of it before I start pushing the clock up. Came like that out the box, then I added 500 on the mem, absolutely no problem at all.

yeah may not have got the best sample, but just upped the memory to 500mhz and in rust seems stable, any higher on the gpu core and it crashes the drivers. Temps are insanely good though.

on my 1070 the bottleneck is the power limit not temps.

The card can reach 2050 but cannot stay there as it hits max power limit, the temp never goes over 60C and is often way below 60C.

Given tho I am able to sustain been over 2ghz and this thing in its current state is way faster than my 970 I am happy until I come across a game where its underpowered (none so far).

The palit cards have a 170 watt power limit, but the excess phases, a custom bios could probably safely increase the limit to 200-210 and this in turn would give higher sustained clocks and also some breathing space to try higher voltages on the upper speed bin's to make unstable boost clocks stable.

Just got a new 1440p monitor and ran a few benchmark tests with my 1070 Gamerock Premium. All was going excellent until I tried Firestrike Extreme and my graphics score went down from 9,266 to 7,256.

Immediately assumed the worst thinking my graphics card must be failing, oh Christ no... then noticed that I still had the Heaven Benchmark running in the background. Did pretty well considering! :D

Could you guys with the Zotac 1070 AMP Extreme please set fan on manual to 25% and see if it stays on constantly at 25% fan speed. For me anything below 31% fan speed the fan just revs up, then off, then back up, then off again.

My PC is very quiet, so I can hear it doing it.

Thank guys.

Are you upping voltage? Mine goes 2120 without any extra, never went close to power limit either.

EDIT: does go to 112/114 actually.

no.

But upping voltage wouldnt help anyway as the power limit is not enough.

Bear in mind voltage control and power limit's are 2 separate things.

If your card goes to 2120 on stock power limits, it simply means your chip is better than mine, it can run clocks at lower voltages than mine, less voltage means less power usage.

In both maxwell and pascal (at least on boards with proper cooling) the bottleneck is the power limit not temperature control.

Higher voltage increases stability at cost of power usage and temperature.
Lower voltage will allow higher clocks within a power range at cost of possible decreased stability. (remember the amd 480 reports of people undervolting cards finding they could hit higher clocks).

Modding boards with hardware mods usually is to bypass voltage limits. To increase the watt limit, you typically just need to mod the bios. (I mean above the power adjustment can make in software).

On my 970 as an example I could raise the power limit to 110% in software, but in the bios I could raise to perhaps what is the equivalent to say 180%. So a speed of 1408mhz at 1.18vddc would be 120% power usage on stock bios but 70% power usage on modded bios. I only did this on my 970 tho as the chip was really bad. Whilst my 1070 seems to be within expected performance levels so I have no need to mod the bios or adjust voltages. Your chip at 2120 at stock voltages seems to be excellent and clearly above average. :)
