Got my card today. Coming from a broken R9 290, so am very excited. Also ordered an EVGA GTX 1080/1070 Hybrid kit and will install to this once it arrives with me next week.

Out with the old (GTX570) and in with the new

Fit's nicely.

(excuse the plastic card, got to find a solution to vibration noise coming from the HDD through the case - very annoying, the plastic card stops the vibration).

Can any 1080 owners comment on the fast sync functionality? Does it work properly? Heard lots about stuttering issues and was wondering what people have actually experienced here.

If I get a 1080, this would be a key feature for me, so would really appreciate some feedback from actual users!

I upgraded my monitor from a Benq 22" 1920x1080 to a Acer X34a 3440x1440p at the same time.

Oh my, I really have no words on how much a difference it's been. The EVGA is silent and the X34a is simply stunning.

Brilliant! glad you're happy with your purchase! can't beat a nice monitor upgrade, I'd like a new 144hz 1440p monitor just for the sake of it, and for a nice aggressive looking monitors thing is, I'm at 4k and the IQ is fantastic!

well then 1080 owners, any buyers remorse at all with recent price drops on last gen? is the 1080 performing as you expected do you regret it at all? how're you finding it? just curious to see peoples opinions

Non at all. Once i'd clocked the memory to the point where it didn't drop fps if i pushed further which ended up being +550 and my core clock hovers at between late 1900's and early 2000's on intensive games i got down to testing at 4k.

Without any SLI issues to contend with from my 980 ti's i tested all my taxing games at 4k and was very happy. Maxed out without AA and motion blur games ran above 40fps and with g-sync this was perfect. The only game in my collection with lower fps is Homefront the revolution maxed with SMAA x1 which ran at 30-33 fps in the wide open city landscapes with an odd slight dip under on occasion, higher fps indoors though, still very playable with g-sync. Strange game that one, crysis 3 welcome to the jungle runs at 40fps maxed out. Mirrors edge hyper settings no problem either.

Once big pascal arrives i will get that probably, but if you have g-sync and want to be rid of SLI at 4k an overclocked 1080 is a great card If you don't mind not being at 60fps on heavy hitting games at max settings.

Loving my upgrade from SLI 780ti's to a single GTX 1080.......

The only thing i sometimes regret is that I wish I could have bought one of the AIB GTX 1080 cards instead of the Founders Edition 1080...
(I got to buy the blower type cards because next time I upgrade i put the old GPU in my smaller HTPC case

)

Great cards to be honest. Even one of my custom flashed 980Ti was 20-30% slower on average. Some games even nudging 35%.

That Ti was over 1500mhz in comparison.

I'm happy with them and should keep me going a good while. Either next gen or tempted to go single Titan/1080Ti in the future depending on performance.

Why would there be regret or worrying about last gens price drops? It is the fastest card out and decently quicker than the last gen stuff. For example in the new dx12 timespy bench the highest scoring 1080 is 26% faster than the highest scoring 980Ti.

I'm not too great at overclocking but have my Gigabyte G1 1080 @ 2036 boost last night gaming temp was 68deg with 70% fan in a very hot upstairs room.

Oh and added 200mhz on the memory, what's the average people get on there memory?

I know everyone waiting for their EVGA but I think 2000+ MHz is great and looking around the net you don't get much more score/fps at 2100+

Coming from GTX770's SLI to this 1080 is amazing.

Are the FE cards a concern if intention is to fit a waterblock? Like the guy above, If I bought one of these I would prefer a reference PCB and would eventually downgrade to a smaller case so reference blower world eventually be beneficial.

Are the FE cards worth buying?

Ref cards are fine. They can OC as high as other cards and once under water will remove any tempreture related overheads. Even with stock blower they have improved it over lasts gens and up to 60% or so fan profile runs pretty quiet.

Have two FE cards. Both on waterblocks and solid at 2100mhz in games. One will go to 2140mhz but the other one won't do much over 2110mhz.

Custom bios will push them higher which is what I'm waiting for. Seen 2235mhz on water with the Asus XOC bios on FE cards.

I would say for air even in a smaller case your better off with a custom cooler, cooler and quieter. On water then yes a FE for sure as blocks and cards themselves are cheaper for the same performance as AIB cards.
