Thanks I'll try it when I get home.
What sort of score should I be getting to know whether a 1070 would be worth it?

You can see the difference in the actual bench thread as there are 1070s in the single table that you can compare to Kepler cards in the 2 GPU table.

SLI works very well in Heaven 4 and the bench is not really influenced by the CPU as long as it is overclocked fast enough to keep up with the GPU(s).

https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18487976

There are Kepler Titans and 780 Ti's in the 2 GPU table and they tend to score about 800 points more than a single 1070.

How is the card, if I swap my 980ti for a 1070 that's the one I was thinking about as I want to shrink my case :) hows the noise?

I did have a massive long Zotac 980Ti amp edition that scored 2254 on heaven 4.0 , That was eating up a lot of watts & making my in case temp near the CPU 9c hotter ,
Gigabyte mini 1070 scored 2224 factory defort ,no OC :) & runs half or less on watts , Gigabyte mini GTX 1070 IS 0db On desktop with full control over settings of the fan to 0 to 100% , the 980ti did not have full control , My 980ti was noisy under load playing games, with the Gigabyte mini GTX 1070 , hardly any sound under load , Only a little coil Hizz now & then.

So Bradmax57 , If you want a compact card that runs cooler / less watts & more quiet under load :)

Update ,just checked & found my old Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti AMP Edition 6144MB" Score on Heaven 4.0 score 2254

Here are the Scores of my 2 x 1070s & 1 x 980ti used on my main PC , The hardware & all cards are at factory defort , No manual overclocking.
Give you some idear on scores ,Remember i am running a i7 4790k Defort factory clocks & 1080p monitor ,16gb memory ,Windows 7

Was going added my 1060 GTX benchmark here ,but the hardware /CPU is a 4690k

Any members got advice about overclocking a 1070?
So far I am getting +100 (2100) on the GPU core, but it's crashing at that point.
Will raising the Power Limit too 110% help with the GPU Core limit or Memory clocks?

I understand GPU Voltage, wont help as Pascal does not work well with more power?
Thanks for any advice.

I would have liked my next card to be an AMD, because GCN is good tech and the boost gained from DX12 is greater, relatively speaking than nVidia. Unfortunately they just don't have the raw performance at the present time or an option for those wanting to upgrade from R9 290x / 390x. I simply no longer have faith that Vega will perform much better than GTX 1070 when it comes out, and I feel I've had the wool pulled over my eyes with Polaris regarding power efficiency and performance on the run up to its release.

Therefore, it is with some regret that I announce that I will be purchasing a GTX 1070 to replace my R9 290x. I cannot justify the price of the GTX 1080 or TitanXP, even though I would prefer a definitive 4K single card solution. I shall decide in future if it's worth upgrading to SLI GTX 1070 or a newer architecture once it becomes available.

I feel I've had the wool pulled over my eyes with Polaris regarding power efficiency and performance on the run up to its release.

You are not the only one, I went with the 1070 as well. AMD's new strategy of going for the mainstream market first has left no upgrade path for those on 290/290x cards.

And like you I was disappointed with the power efficiency of the 480, a huge step up from the previous generation but bad when compared to Nvidia's cards.

But, I don't understand how AMD pulled the wool over your eyes regarding performance? They said they were concentrating on the mainstream market, they said the 480 was a 380 replacement. A few people on the forum went wild thinking it was going to match a 980ti until Gibbo stopped that line of thinking. The 480 was never intended as an upgrade path for those people on cards like the 970, 290/x, etc.

Received my Palit 1070 Super JetStream:
What clocks were you able to get on this? Mine arrived today and haven't really get a great stable clock yet, +85 core was about it, fluctuating between 1999 and 2012. After that unigine was hanging.

Running it again now, still +85 core, +600 vram but with voltage set to +0 and power set to 100% and it actually seems more stable on 2025mhz.. man this overclocking is confusing :(

I think I may have a problem with my 1070 FTW but I'm not sure if I was expecting too much or if I actually have a dud. What do you guys think, should I send it back or am I comparing my stock rig to OC'd rigs?

My benchmark results
Score 2357, GPU 1070 @1974/4006, CPU 3570K @3.4 (all stock and on air)

Other 1070 results:
Score 2798, GPU 1070 @2126/2502, CPU 6600k @4.7, Daaaveee
Score 2762, GPU 1070 @2164/2390, CPU 4790k @4.8, Sidewinder11
Score 2734, GPU 1070 @2151/2458, CPU 2500k @4.7, Raikiri
Score 2655, GPU 1070 @2126/2402, CPU 6600k @4.5, KLM
Score 2633, GPU 1070 @2136/2200, CPU 3770k @4.8, nutsnut
Score 2613, GPU 1070 @2038/2252, CPU 6700k @4.6, Aretak
Score 2540, GPU 1070 @2075/2151, CPU 2500k @4.6, smithy83

Certainly is a beauty!

Increasing voltage (without a custom BIOS) seems to just hit the power limit a bit earlier - with a small voltage bump I can get 2100MHz stable but at some points it will downlock to ~2020MHz with reason power limit any way no matter temperatures, etc. seems the best compromise I can find of any settings.

It's your cpu holding the scores back. Get it overclocked and you will climb up quite a few places.

Thanks a lot lads! That really helps settle the nerves.

I've heard Unigine is also RAM dependent so maybe bumping up to 16GB may help too (currently 8GB DDR3 1600MHz 9-9-9-24). I know that games like GTA V would really benefit.

Unfortunately a CPU overclock isn't possible, my 3570K is installed on a mobo with an H77 chipset.

I don't think this bench uses the cpu much at all.

This bench likes gpu memory frequency I think hence the higher scores are from the higher memory overclocks.

I could be wrong though. Kaap would know.

Always been my experience - higher VRAM frequency can massively boost the results (unlike most games) and to a degree how tight system RAM latencies and bus speed is as well (not amount of RAM). I used to pickup like 10% extra FPS on my 780 just from overclocking the VRAM to the max in it while in games it generally did nothing.

That's strange, my GPU memory clock was also oddly twice that of everyone else's... ah they're all showing boost clock and base clock (not sure how to find my boost clock on Precision X). If CPU doesn't make that much of a difference then I may as well attempt an OC just to see how this can perform.

Anyone running 1070 SLI @ 4k?

Curious how you find the experience. Interested as someone coming from 2 290xs, with a FreeSync monitor.

I've found that on the whole my 290xs give good performance, but my PC is now in a small room with no ventilation (no window) so it heats up too much and does get noisy.

There's also horrific stuttering in The Witcher 3, which I really want to play at last (still haven't played through).

I've got a bit of a backlog of games, so if anyone has experience in these titles that I'm particularly interested in playing, please comment:-

Witcher 3
Total War Attila
Dark Souls 3
Dragon Age: Inquisition

Thanks in advance.
