ATi Radeon X1950XTX

I wouldnt buy the X1950 if i was getting it for free.

its just another speed bumped milk you for all your worth card upgrade over the X1900XTX

ohh wow GDDR4 lets all hale will joy...

my next upgrade is DX10 card none of this speed bumped No swearing!, i have already done the speed bumped route long enough.
 
ViRuS2k you need to delete that sweary before a don sees it :)

I agree with you though, i don't see any point for anyone with a new card upgrading to this. I think it'll only be worth the uupgrade with those who have older tech cards.

Actually, it's a refresh. It's not intended to be an upgrade for the X1900XT-X as they already have a very powerful graphics card, it's intended for people who missed out on the X1900 series, and to a lesser extent the X1800 series, altogether and waited for the wrinkles to be ironed out rather than be early adopters.

Besides, you're not looking at the bigger picture here. Every new hardware release is intended as a "speed bumped, milk you for all you're worth upgrade." Cards like the 7600GT are more than adequate for modern gaming, but people just like to buy new things.

GDDR4, despite being stupidly fast and cooler, is not the only improvement the X1950 series has to offer. Gibbo has stated that one of these cards will be close to the 7950GX2 in terms of performance, not to mention that the new cooler is supposedly wonder to behold and inspired by the HIS IceQ3.

Ah, you going to be a beta tester for the rest of us then and have your card obsolete before any DirectX 10 games other than Crysis are out? Thanks a lot, someone should pay you for this. ;)

Agreed, when the next DX10 cards come along you might be able to play 2x games in DX10. ;)

x1800 XT here, cuts through all DX9 games easily so ill be missing R600/G80 out and getting a DX10 card further down the line when DX10 is worth having and theres not just 1 or 2 games using it, which is probably over a year away from now, so ill just happily play Crysis and whatever else in DX9 till then. :D

If that's real then the X1950 can bite me, but I seriously doubt it is. ATI are not discontinuing the X1900 series yet, so to make a new series card that performs exactly like the last one would be an enormous waste of money.

Likewise, but I might grab an X1900 or X1950 just because lol. DirectX 10 hardware will be a waste of money for quite a while though.

We also have to question any benchmarks with results that look truely inaccurate. Keep in mind that the guy who posted those said they have been pulled already from the place that he got them.

Likewise, every benchmark bar one has been pulled so far, so they simply can't be trusted. I too will wait for reputable reviewers like Anandtech, FiringSquad, X-Bit Labs, Guru3D, Tom's Hardware etc. who don't release bogus benchmarks far too early and then pull them when people notice. :)

I agree, the Vr review was pulled also, I realise it could be ATI's Nda but no one pulled that first Crossfire/quad Sli Benchie. Read into it all as You wish :)

I will have a X1950XTX Just as I have had all the other new cards Ati released in the past couple of Years, and make my own decisions.

Only thing I'm really sure of is Like You ,I'm not buying into this DX10 bs
