A Battlefield 2142 thread

I will never buy another EA game as long as i live after the MOH:PA game and BF vietnam.

They simply can't produce a good game and rely too heavily on advertising over content.

Its a "halo" award for doing that, i just got one a half hour ago.

No the Halo Ribbon is for 10seconds in a parachute IAR :)

Edit : Right, whoever finds out the definition of a Titan Air Drop gets a cookie! Just found a ribbon for it as well. Aerial Service Ribbon - IAR 15 Titan Air Drops and 25hrs in Air Transport.

WTH IS A TITAN AIR DROP :mad:

See i think this is more likely than mcwildcards suggestion (would be insanely difficult to track). Might try and get the easy pin tonight when i get in to see if that's the case (IAR 10 Titan Air Drops) and see if i get it. Should be fairly easy to do.
 
Do the Talon and Doragon BOTH have heat seeking missiles and how effective are they? I have a mixed experience where sometimes the missiles will lock on when shot directly at aircraft, but other times will not want to bother, lol.

Aye apparently your right :eek: According to Totalbf2142 it's done by having 10 Titan Air Drops which is apparently people podding out the transport chopper near the enemy titan. Or jumping out your chopper into the enemy titan when you've landed on it. Apparently the easiest way to do it is to get squad leader to put an Attack call on the titan, land your chopper on it. Stay in until 10 people have spawned and got out. Sounds stupidly hard to me though :/
 
Please help or i will be execute!

Still can't fix the freezing problem on multiplayer, i have tried the following:

Re-installing the game
Uninstalling, perform system restore, re-install
Defrag my hard drive
Re-installed Windows XP
Turned off my anti-virus
Played the game with all settings at minimum
Reset my router
Different graphics card
Different sound card
Different hard drive
Underclocked my CPU and graphics card
Reset my motherboard bios
Cleared temporary internet files
Different Forceware
Different motherboard drivers
Different X-fi drivers
1GB RAM instead of 2GB
Different brand of RAM
Updated Punkbuster client
Turned my mouse updside down

That leaves my internet connection and my router as possible causes of the problem. I have an nForce 4 motherboard which is what my internet is connected to. Singleplayer is not affected and neither are other multiplayer games. So wtf?
It was fine before yesterday and i managed to play 12 hours online since Saturday before it suddenly froze. BF2 was the same, i played that for months then it froze one day.

hmm, probably not what you want to hear, but i'd do a total reformat ...

i used to have the same prob on bf2, it ran fine for a yr but after certain patches it got worse, CTD's even before patch 1.3 ... random freezes

i bit the bullet and wiped the HD, re-installed and everything was fine..

dont play titan all the time, go capture flags in conquest in a team and watch score and career pts shoot up :)

also, things like 5kills IA row will give you the Combat efficiency pin which adds (i think) 5pts to your EOR score
its quite easy to pick the award up 2-4 times a round

dont forget that kills only get you 1pt
 
I've just updated my punkbuster client for BF 2142, if this doesn't work then i may reformat. It would also give me a chance to try out Windows Vista RC2...

I do do a lot of ground work, moreso than titan defense I'd say.
I'm just generally not that good, saying that I usually am steadily about 3rd on the team and have great fun so who cares :D
 
I really fancy trying to get a big kill streak tonight, but I have to go out, so it's unlikely.
I'm off work on Friday though, so hopefully I can put in some serious hours then
 
I'm just about to head on for a good 3hr or so stint, add me if you fancy a game. Probably be on 50klicks Conquest.
