Has anyone played the just casue demo????? the reason i ask is that Dice must have casue everytime i sneak up to a tank or apc to lay the rdx (c4) the tank barely touches me but i still die, its extremely annoying at full health, tank turns and i turn must be the wheels/tracks/mavity pods go over my toes and kill me

Yeah that can be quite annoying. It usually happens to me when the tank does NOTHING, I just randomly die. I've had a few other moments where there's nothing around and I just die 'Boogle is no more'. One time when we were defending the titan we would die randomly every couple of minutes 'X is no more'. It would just be one of us though :p

I would like to put a suggestion out there: While its very considerate of you tank/walker drivers to stay in a static position firing, its not very clever. Some annoying person (like me) will sneak up cloaked, plant some DemoPaks, run away, and then detonate them. Same goes for Air Transports, best not leave them alone since the same annoying person may plant demopaks on it, and then wait for you to take off with a load of people onboard.

Ahhh DemoPaks, the greatest weapon in the game. So very many uses.

Expandead: There were Infantry Only servers for BF2, there's probably some for BF2142. There's also some very infantry heavy maps that you may want to stick to. Maps like Cerbere Landing and Camp Gibraltar. There's a few good sniper spots on Camp Gibraltar that no one looks at. Got many a kill :D

I was only on for about an hour last night, but I had an absolute stinker.
There seemed to be a wealth of people using cheap tactics last night, a couple of guys were sat in a tank spawnraping our uncappable (which was clearly against the rules of the server), when we didn't have any other bases captured. I got so vexed after about the 5th time of dying straight after spawning that I changed team and blew them up with a rocket, I then told them (again) in big capital letters that it was against the server rules.
I don't think I've ever done that before, nor do I hope to ever do it again, but my god it was satisfying and wholly worth the minus points.

So what classes have people been sticking to? In the demo I found the engineer to be a very balanced class. Assault was good but felt naked without something to take out vehicles. Recon I didnt get on with at all - I guess because too many vehicles in the demo. Support was good, but only really when defending titan. Don't know about the full game yet though, what do you guys think? How does unlocks affect the classes?

I like Recon and Assault. Recon with the Lambert Carbine / DemoPaks if in a general map, Recon with a sniper if on one of those long infantry maps. Assault if in close-quarters, or titan assault/defending.

I prefer DemoPaks to the rocket launcher / AT cannon because they work in a single hit. Imo its somewhat less risky to cloak, flank, plant, leg it, detonate. Its also a lot more satisfying knowing you sneaked up on a big massive tank/walker and blew it up :D

i unlocked the BAUR - i think it was a mistake - couple of questions:

how MUCH DAMAGE is required to kill someone in heavy armour, so i can gauge my headshots and torso shots.

also, do you guys aim down the sight or not bother?

also, which resolution is best for the xhair / body size ratio (i.e smaller xhair)

Personally i like Assault Medic. The Voss unlock is sweet, particularly when scoped. And add the defib and medikit and you've got an all round points bonanza. I quite often finish in the top 3 as Assault/Medic.

I think the Assault class is superb, I love having the means to rack up a lot of kills, but at the same time the ability to heal myself and revive others.
Recon is pretty cool too, I'm sure once I've unlocked the cloaker I'll spend a fair bit more time with it, I do feel that the stabiliser unlock was a real waste of time though, I never use it.

Ive only got 2 full unlocks, recon to the lambert carbine, which is a good weapon at range was sniping ppl with no probs, and assualt medic with the Voss, i went the voss way as in the beta i went the Baur way and found it very weak and some what inaccurate.

The Baur is definitely a weapon you have to get used to. When I first unlocked it, I went back to the basic gun

However, if you give it a chance you'll find it immensely accurate and powerful. I usually aim down the scope with all weapons due to the accuracy increase. Although if someone is close up, its usually spray n' pray ;)

I've heard that you can get insta-kill headshots with it, is that true?

Not sure tbh, but some people go down very quickly if you aim in the head area.
I wasn't sure about making the effort to unlock it, but it sounds like it could suit the way I play. Can you use the shotgun attachment with it?

Yes you can :) (However I still much prefer the Voss to the BAUR)

I don't really do much close combat tbh, so I'd rather the BAUR's power and accuracy over the Voss' rate of fire and superior clip. The shotgun will tide me over in close combat when needed.
I'm off out again tonight, so I'm still not going to be able to have a decent session.
Off work tomorrow though, let battle commence! ;)

I've been using the BAUR since my first weapon unlock and it's served me very nicely.

I also had a few hours playing BF2 today and my was it easy in comparison to 2142. I ended up with something like 33 kills and 4 deaths on Jalalabad. :D
