Hi guys,

Need to build a PC for my Dad, he has a Samsung 40" 4k TV he wants to use so needs HDMI 2.0.

Basic build, no gaming just for light Windows 10 use. 8Gb of RAM minimum.

Don't need the OS or keyboard/mouse. Small case is good as well.120Gb SSD is fine.

Any ideas?

A 950, rx 460 or a 1050 will do it as well.

There are skylake boards that have hdmi 2.0 output but are rare and expensive.

I'd look for a GPU that runs it's fans semi-passively. That way it shouldn't make any noise during normal use.

If the TV is HDR you will need the latest gen cards. So RX 460 or GTX 1050. The older cards and on-board Intel can't do HDR.

These cards are full height, double width, but short length. This limits your case options somewhat.

Yes it is a bit of a joke at the moment. Loads of 4K HDR TVs, but very little content, and very difficult to use an external source.
