Wooohhaaa..

I take it thats a PCI-E adaptor?

Has the TCP/IP window size been changed?

Also has the ICS service been disabled?

Thanks

Andy

I need to get around to tweaking mine, oddly at 1st attempt Solaris wouldnt let me change the MTU on my pro1000 :( The other is in an ESXi box which looks easy to change. Might get one for my Desktop rather than the onboard NIC, but its splitting hairs really - not exactly slow at the moment :D (~50-60mb/s)

If its XP try this.

Lan Card Properties

Untick QoS Packet Scheduler

Services to Disable – Start > Run > Services.msc

Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)

Registry Changes

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
Add a DWORD named TcpWindowSize
Add the value 131400 (make sure you click on 'decimal')

Add a DWORD named Tcp1323Opts
Add the value 3

That's damn nice. I almost bought some of these cards a while back but didn't get round to it...

...I'm quite tempted again now :)

I turned off autotuning and now I'm getting 100% utilisation

netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable

What network switch do you have? As thats impressive throughput for the switch as well as the network cards. Also you using Cat5e or Cat6???

damn nice

how much for the pair?

what was the speed before?

I've seen pairs of these go on an auction site for less than £20.. Think it was about £15. It took a fair bit of me stalking the listings for a few weeks to see them go that cheap though...

Nothing fancy switch wise NETGEAR GS105 ProSafe, using CAT5e, very short cables though ;)

You on Vista Sp1 there too?

Yup, one machine is Vista X64 (SP1), the other is Windows Home Server
