Omega 6.9s out :)

Noticed this myself tonight as I embark on some Crossfire overclocking.

Got my shiny new HIS X1900GT upto 675/775 XTX speeds with the latest ATTtonight as well, very happy at present.

Once I have my mini-guide done, I'll post how to OC ya Crossfire setups :D

Will they make Omega Drivers for 64 bit windows you think?(Guess I really should ask them.) I'm not looking forward to installing CCC once I get my mobo.

People are seeing things , ive tried and compared omega to ati cats and with cards x1800XT and upwards NO difference... Unless you have older cards dont bother with these so called tweak drivers.

Just use latest cats + ati tray tools , then go into advanced tweaking for yourself

Gonna give them a try and tell you what I think then. Running a X1900XT atm and with Ati Tool I got it up to 765/830 but it was a pain in the ass to use and never held my settings (yes I did save them and tell it to auto load my profile)

You have to re-enable ATI Hotkey poller in the services.msc and tell ATI Tray Tools not to kill the process everytime windows starts.

Bad news and not so easy , later drivers are playing havoc with peoples overclocking profiles... some games you have to ALT + TAB back to windows and re-enable clocks.

If you don't believe me ask ray adams

This happens with me and battlefield 2 , hardware clocks - set - load bf2 - clocks reset - alt tab - reload clocks - alt tab again

I have to use overdrive 3 until the next version

Is that using the Overdrive option in ATI Tray Tools? Or the normal overclocking options?

Latest version of ati tray tools - overdrive 3 works fine as it works with ccc
clocks don't reset

Hardware overclocking though since ati cats 6.4 isnt working as well as it should in ati tray tools or ati tools , this only affects cards that use the overdrive service. x1800xt+

oops forgot to mention , don't jump on the omega driver boat yet

At this moment I'm finishing adding new method of overclocking for R5xx boards. This method will be called "Driver Level".
What will do this method:
1. Overclocking will be done by Catalyst itself like Overdrive
2. Voltage will be applied by driver for GPU and by ATT for memory
3. ATT will emulate Overdrive job, but will allow to set clocks when you want it instead of when you run full screen 3D application.
4. This should work even if you didn't disable ATI HotKey poller! And clocks will not resets by that service in 3D games
5. With this method clocks will not resets when you play any video files (checked on my 1800XT, no more resets)
6. More stable overclocking. Catalyst know HOW to do overclock job better that any other utils
________
I hope this method will work without problems, but there are some disadvantages:
1. It seems that this method can be used only on video boards with Overdrive support (I will check it with non Overdrive board 1600Pro)
2. The step in MHz will be higher than in Low Level ( about 6MHz)

I thought that was already out, it looks very similar to the version I'm using 1.2.6.940

I can't complain about the one's I've got :D They seem to be working fine so far, I'll check with Rivatuner on BF2 tomorrow and see if they're playing up.

I'm sure the next version will be interesting though, make sure you let us know when it shows up :D

Cool stuff , would be nice to know if its just affecting x1800xt users or all cards with overdrive...

Set clocks ie apply them , then load battlefield 2 with rivatuner in the background and see what happens to the core, mem clocks and volts.

All id like with ati tray tools is mem volts seperate from hardware akka in overdrive 3

im running the official ati drivers but have removed the CCC and im using Tray tools and so far have no problems with it.

can;t really see the benefits of the omega drivers other than integrated tray tools.

is there a change list somewhere that lists all the changes?
