It's a hardware design flaw if rendering graphics "too fast" is causing cards to die, capping the frame-rate lower is just skirting around the problem.
So if I run Furmark or Heaven at 640x480 and it goes over 200fps will my card melt too?
VERY weird issue, still....
just search for the Documents\StarCraft II Beta\variables.txt file and ann teh lines
Awesome, Starcraft menu benchmark
Anyone having problems with ATI cards? There's a lot of moaning on BNET forums at the moment questioning compatability.
Ridiculous, this just shows that people don't test their rig for stability with CPU and GPU tests. Chances are their cards were probably covered in dust and insufficiently cooled anyway.
The menu isn't framecapped, so it'll just use as much power as it possibly can.Starcraft 2 is not very intensive at all, these GPUs must have been terrible.
