Thread + Code snippets (for Stylish) on Neowin thread

It is pretty nice indeed :)

yup, it's pretty sweet. just needs a few more options instead of using these stylish hacks. but i'm sure that will all be sorted soon.

Pros:

Refresh button is in the proper place this time.

Cons:

Bookmarks toolbar is MASSIVE and not transparent. Clearly for OCD people who have everything hidden.

Bookmarks button is not a drop-down

Stop button is still annoying. If you click it just as the page loads you click the button after it.

Nope you can keep your existing profile, just create a FEBE backup (as you do regularly anyway NUDGE NUDGE!) so if something does happen a profile restore is 3 clicks away.

Heck I uninstalled Firefox 3.6 beta5 the other day and installed daily updates on the 3.7 Pre Alpha build and my profile was kept automagically - everything just /worked/ :)

a new profile for a new theme? i don't know whether to laugh or cry when i read your posts.

when i installed strata and other add ons something messed up my firefox so i had to start again. of course it may not have been the theme that did it but more then just a theme change is needed as add ons are required to get it all working well.

components sometimes conflict. so you uninstall or disable them to find the culprit, not start a fresh profile. (well i've never had to :p)

easier to create a new profile?

download all my extensions.
configure each and every one of those extensions.
import my bookmarks.
re-arrange my toolbars.
configure all my usual firefox options.
lose all my cookies for sites i'm currently signed in to?

all that is easier than disabling a component and restarting firefox? you're off your ****** trolley. :D

You can transfer those too; a theme isn't going to touch places.sqlite so you could likely copy your history and bookmarks without the export/import step.

Still, the most you should have to do is nuke prefs.js in your profile (if it sets some obtuse setting that stops the browser starting up); safe mode will take care of themes and extensions...

That's a bit weird, you probably have an extension conflict, post your extensions screenshot!

You don't need a glasser extension with this as it has aero built into TwnetyTenBuddy.
