Those with VAG 1.8T engines

Quick question, I think I asked this many moons ago but those with the 1.8T in various states of tune could you please tell me how many MPG you can get on a motorway 70mph waft?

Also mentioning the vehicle would help too

Mate has a Leon with this engine, he reckons 33-35 max.

I have done 40mpg on a 200 mile run doing 60-70. Town and also motorway (mostly mway)

Stage 1 remap - 210bhp or so? 2001 Octy RS

I cruise at an indicated 80mph but my best has been 39mpg average for a steady cruise up to Coventry and back.

Normal long trip average is about 36mpg.

Standard Octavia vRS (180 BHP)

EDIT- just for extra info because I'm a nerd... over the last 14k I've averaged 31.6 MPG overall

I get around 33-35 at 70mph and 400 miles per tank. MK1 Leon Cupra R 210 remapped to around 260bhp.

At 70mph I get 33mpg. At 55mph I can get 40mpg though.

75 mile journey, about 15 of which is town nonsense, I manage between 40 and 45mpg , driving between 65-75 (newer 1.8T engine).

Revo stage 2 leon cupra, around 30-35mpg, its hard to say really as there is always overtaking etc.

Its 1.8T, they've had 3/4 revisions in the A3 (both new and old shape).

Mum has a 1.8t 163hp audi tt, gets around 40-43mpg at 70mph.

I've got low 40s in France on long motorway journeys, probably high 30s at 70 in the UK, mid-30s at 80-85. VW Bora 180bhp 6-speed box.

When i had my ibiza cupra i got 46mpg out of it on one trip - but that was stuck doing 50mph most of the trip due to the M1 cameras and M25 being slow as well.

Very efficient engines when driven gently and not that bad around town. Used to get about 28mpg pure town driving.

Not tuned, but the standard 156bhp
