Those with VAG 1.8T engines

Mines getting rubbish MPG at the moment i really need a new remap, about 32mpg at 70mpg with cruise on with a revo stage one so around 195bhp, it should be getting a little more than that really, Passat 1.8T Estate (so the biggest car the engine came in iirc.)

It also came in the Audi A6 Avant.

A new remap won't fix this if you feel it should be getting better economy, much more likely a tired sensor or something similar.

I think its chucking in too much fuel sometimes, mind saying that my turbo oil seals did go so it could be one of the two Lambda sensors, but its just flown through the emissions tests without issue and very low readings so i'm not sure.

golf GTI 150 custom code chipped (so circa 200bhp) used to get 36-40mpg across a full journey depends on hills/traffic with std wheels.
Now I have 235 wide 17's and proper tyres its 34-36.

Its a well looked after car, but has done 135k now... (no, shock horror its not disintegrated yet!!)

I have averaged 31.7mpg since I bought the car (14k ago) and I rarely use the motor way, only for the occasional long journey maybe 1500 of those miles in 6 or 7 trips.

At around 70 mph with minimal acceleration I get up to about 35 mpg
80 with bursts to 90 sees around 31 mpg on a run

Thanks guys, seems like they're a good choice for something that's got poke and reasonably economical.

The BMW sixes are pretty good in the mpg stakes when motorwaying too aren't they.

polo 1.8t at around 210bhp with an aggresive map (turbo kicks in at 2k rpm)

sitting between 60-70 I can get 45mpg+ or 70-80 around 38-40mpg, anything beyond 80 and the economy starts to drop quite quickly

AGU 1.8T, not mapped so still at 150bhp. 310~ miles to a tank full in this weather, doing 25 miles a day on A/B roads and the obligatory park and crawl in traffic for 2 miles.

Audi A4 Avant with a few mods 212bhp and I have never averaged more than 30mpg in the 30k miles I have driven in it!

Looking at the figures above I might try to use the cruise control and see how economical I can get it.

Great car and great engine

Great car and great engine

keep in mind your car weighs about double mine :p

:D:D
LOL

I might strip it out this weekend!

:D

the avants surprisingly not much different in weight to the salloon, which in turn isn't that much more than the a3.

It isn't quattro is it? My mates quattro loves drinking the juice, even the quattro diesels are gutsy

330 BHP - Leon Cupra R.

Since I had the bigger turbo fitted - I actually get better fuel economy - IF I drive sensible ;)

Mad power you chaps have running off your 1.8T's.

Those with power around the 250-300 mark, I presume this is going to shorten the life of engine bits and bobs?
