So, we have had 3D for a while now. What do people think?

I loved it for Avatar but since then I have struggled to see a film that was improved by it. Some films (Clash of the Titans I am looking at you) were a complete waste of time.

I am actually sick of paying extra for 3D now and wanting to take the glasses of after 5mins and watch the film normally.

What do others think? (Dons can we have a poll?)

Meh big time - think it works 'best' for animated movies...

Ill change my mind when holographic 3D turns up

If you have 2 pairs of glasses you can change the filters so one has both lefts and the other has both right lenses to cancel the 3D effect IIRC, still left with the reduction in brightness due to polarisation though...

ps3ud0

Definitely "meh". The only film I've seen where they use it well is Avatar. But that's mainly for the depth. I hate it though - It won't be a success in my eyes until they get rid of the glasses... And even then I'm not that bothered :p

Most definitely a resounding 'MEH'! Not becasue of the visuals, but because on each occassion I've tried to watch a movie in 3D I've been thwarted by the stupid glasses not fitting over my regular glasses.

Avatar and Hugo were fantastic, everything else was a waste of time and money.

It's all down to the director I would say. It's no wonder that James Cameron and Martin Scorsese use it to great effect and mindless big budget carp doesn't.

Meh, saw alice in wonderland, terrible film made worse with 3d.

Do appreciate being able to see animated films on digital projectors (tintin was really nice to watch) but I can't stand paying more to wait for less frequent showings (with the 2d/3d split at cinemas).

It'll get relegated back to theme park attractions again hopefully.

hate it personally; got a headache watching avatar and didn't think it added anything to the movie (it was pants anyway).

tragically, prometheus is only being shown in 3d apparently; gonna watch it at the cinema anyway, just not particularly thrilled about the 3d aspect
