Who will be heading in to the city for this? (21st-22nd Sept)

This would be the first time I do specifically for this event and as there are hundreds of buildings to choose from, and I am yet to decide which ones to visit, are there any buildings that would really be worth a visit?

I am thinking really from a photography perspective so anything interesting / tall for good views would be ideal.

I have entered the ballots for The Shard and the London Eye so fingers crossed get one / both of them :)

So where are you guys planning on heading?

I haven't had the camera out in quite a while now but my interest has picked up again and looking forward to this.

I entered The Shard ballot, as I haven't been up there yet. Presumably though its not really offering what many of the other tours would offer. I'm sure number 10 would be interesting, are you allowed to enter more than one?

Not sure what the rules would be on snapping away though.

I've not really looked into any of the other options though really. I remember thinking about it last year, but it seemed you had to trawl through quite a bit on the website.

I've done the Shard trip and was not impressed. You would need an increibly clear day to see Earls court or anything else more than 5 miles away. Compared to other skyscrapers round the world (Auckland Sky Tower and the old WTC) it's just not that great. There are 2 observation decks and unfortunately London is not that interesting from that height. And yes I do live in London - W5.

I had mean't more just in terms of offering something you wouldn't usually get to see, which is what this open house is all about.

I would like to see the view from up at The Shard at some point regardless. If its tomorrow though, the weather isn't looking much good for it.

I didn't see anything that said you can't apply for more than one ballot so applied for a few.

I would hope they wouldn't have an issue with people taking pictures

I was planning on heading in to London tomorrow for a bit of a photo trip but as the weather is looking pretty crap I may not bother!

Still looking forward to the open house weekend though.

Gah, sorry I'm being totally stupid!
I thought it was this weekend!

Just realised I can't even do that weekend anyway!

Visited Kings Cross St. Pancras, Lloyd's and Village Underground today. Queue at St. Mary's axe and Lloyd's were ridiculously long! Fortunately I could skip the latter queue due to being a volunteer but they wouldn't allow the same for the former. Took loads of photos of Lloyd's I'll upload soon.

Tomorrow will be Battersea Park, RCA Dyson and volunteerting at my own work premises.

I have a spare priority pass that allows queue jump, if anyone wants it; none of my friends wanted to tag along with me. Collection from Wimbledon tomorrow morning.

I read the queue for Battersea Power Station was made up of thousands of people. How long did you have to wait?

I didn't. I had a priority pass as I was volunteering elsewhere so could queue-jump everywhere except for the Gherkin. I only spent 2 afternoons wandering around. Now that I know how big of an opportunity this weekend is, I'll make the most of it.

Nice pics. Will try and get some pictures uploaded in the next few days.

I wish we had gone to the Lloyds building but that wasn't open on the Sunday.

We went to Custom House, the Roman Bath ruins, Drapers Hall, Painters Hall, Guild Hall, Bishopsgate Institute, Middle Temple Hall and Kings College Library.

Also saw the Tour of England bike race as that passed right outside Middle Temple Hall.

The queue for the Gherkin and Bank of England was madness so didn't bother with them as that could have easily taken up the whole day.
