I am totally lost. What are the differences between the slew of GTX1080's that are on offer? I believe the 1080 FE cards are all identical no matter which one you pick. correct? So whats the main differences with all the others? I'm assuming they have different cooling systems and power options, but if Nvidia are limiting the max voltage, does it really matter which card I buy? What I mean is, could I go with the cheapest card (which the best cooler) and simply crank up the voltage to reach 2-2.1Ghz?
 
We don't advertise our warranty as transferable, but technically it is.
If you can provide our RMA center the original proof of purchase the card is under warranty for 3 years starting that date. If you don't have the proof of purchase, then the serial number dictates the date.
 
I have the Gigabyte G1 Gaming 1080 and have done a small review and testing in a couple of games. Very impressed so far and if you want to see the review, check out my Youtube channel :)

If that was mentioned even In The details section of your products I am sure you would sell more components! ;)
 
can anyone please tell me what the dual-bios option is going to provide as it stands between me purchasing the Gaming or the FTW versions of the EVGA 1080 card. Thanks.

Hi

Can you confirm this as i had a card with no proof of purchase and was told via gigabyte this..

"Goods without proof of purchase are accepted for repair attempt only and are not replaced if non repairable. In such cases, goods should be returned via the seller."

So without the proof its not good then if the card is not repairable

It would be great if you could get a stance on the warranty put in official writing. I was also told in a direct email to Gigabyte support that I would not be covered without a proof of purchase, so I always avoid getting used Gigabyte cards now.

If you let them know that customers having an official reference in black and white of the cover given will instill a lot of confidence in Gigabytes support and leave nothing open to varying interpretation.

Yes, that's the current policy. But getting a copy of a proof of purchase when you buy a second hand card shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the feedback, we'll work on it.
There are a few changes (for good) coming for our RMA policies, we'll probably make an official announcement.
 
Out of all the cards I think they are pretty much the muchness. That said I prefare the gigabyte g1 or extreme for cosmetics, the only other card I like the look of is the evga acx or ftw card.

Now performance wise I think they all offer roughly the same, Even the very expensive FE card but i think we all prefare a cooler running aib card ( other than for sli ).

It means that it has a switch to change between different profiles on the card. These profiles can have different clock speeds, fan profiles, power limits etc.

Often one is for performance and one is for lower power draw.

However overclocking seems to be so limited that it's probably not going to make much difference.
