A while back I was asking for advice for my new toy. It was between a celica, an rx8, and a 350z. I went for this..

Its a Toyota Celica Sports M-TRD

Comes standard with around 210 BHP which has then been boosted to about 280 courtesy of a Greddy Supercharger and Blitz Exhaust.

Crappy pictures, just taken randomly with my phone. Quite a photogenic car though me thinks.. I like it - Always wanted one as well which is a bonus :D

Its the first time I've played with a supercharger, and I've gotta say, its so addictive! I have the fuel bills to prove it ;) Fun though

It looks a bit too NFS/TFATF for my liking, but at least there's something under the bonnet to go with the 'look'.

Enjoy it :)

GTR - I wish :D Maybe next time

There are two basic types BHP wise, a 140 and a 190 (~185), but this is a limited run TRD spec of which only 1200 exist all made for Japan. From factory, its slightly tuned (how is a bit of a mystery) for more revs (it revs like a bike to over 9000rpm) and is stripped down to make it lightweight. The other mods are mostly cosmetic

I'll get some more pics up soon of the bay, it just needs a bit of a tidy up :)

And yeah, I agree it looks a bit NFS / TFATF, but I'm a sucker for japanese styling

So its an import then?

I think loose the rear lights and the graphic and that could be one of the nicest Celica's I have ever seen! I bet that goes quite well, you will have to try and get us a video so we can hear how it sings!

great looking car, toyota racing development cars look and go.

shame no one in the uk really know much about them, i have a mr2 trd that was limited to only 45 in the world, shame they made a body kits and copyed it. but they can't get trd engine parts :D

good luck with the car.

Haha, not too much love for the rear lights :)

I wouldnt quite go as far as lexarse, but they definately wont be to everyones taste..

(yup, needs a clean)

I thought the angel eyes on the front were going to get the grief :)

And yeah, its on Tein coilovers. Fully adjustable, all the way from rock hard to not quite so rock hard ;)

The size of the wheels are 19" so the back has to stay on full else I'm a bit worried it might cause problems on some of our not so smooth roads, theres only about 2cm of clearance! The fronts are softer though so as long as you dont launch over speed bumps, its all good.

And it sounds great to me, the combo of the blitz exhaust (a bit on the loud side admittedly) and the whine of the supercharger when it gets going = win :)

Its also got a piggyback ECU system under the seat, which I have yet to plug a laptop into. Apparently, it gives full control of how the charger works and how much fuel you want to waste.

Its all a bit of a black art to me though, so shall have to do a lot of reading before tinkering
