The *Official* Eve Online Thread

Got a Thorax up and running, thanks Kayden for all the advice.

Just gotta train Hull upgrades to level 4 before I can use this T2 plate thingy.

I've ran outta money, going to do some L1 to get used to the new play style, seems like a big jump from an Incursus lol.

(P.S I thought the OcUK corp would be huge)

Edit: My avatar looks like a Taiwanese lady boy (Frapgusi)

Level 4's are hard, for an experinced BoB pilot, with maxed Domi. should have stuck with the Hulk.

level 4s? hard? I do most of them in a Deimos with the exception of angel missions which I skip or use a domi for.

How you can lose a Domi in a level 4 is completely unknown to me, I know a guy that does them by leaving 1 repper on after agressing the entire pocket ;)

Btw, being BoB doesnt automatically = awesome.

It was pretty heavy sarcasm towards the end of my post there. He got primed by all the BS on "The Assault"

You're welcome, but who's Kayden? :D

And i'm guessing the lady boy aspect is half the appeal of picking that avatar?

Still on the subject of bob. I was watching the 4th alliance tournament yesterday with bob vs star fraction, and having a discussion with some guys in corp chat (sebiester) saying it was complete noobs and luck winning over bob. They have no idea, first of all star fraction would have had to have studied bob's past victories and pick their ships and tactics to pieces, then come up with a counter plan and utilise the ship point system to come up with something effective. You can see that star fraction use 10 thoraxes, this in itself is great to hide ship roles as you cannot see clearly who is doing what. Also that had a few armarrian jammers in there preventing the maller i think it was from repping the rook.

When watching you could see that bob had a tight setup, but 1 break in thats setup lost them the match, star fraction knew what they were doing. Was quite educational to watch. Hope this hasn't been posted before, but it most likely has.

Wanna see?

Good old predictable BOB. Maybe next year they're rotate their setups a bit. :)

PS, That's why noob corps fail, find a new corp. :p

I am thinking of coming back to EVE after a (fairly) long period of inactivity - I got a bit addicted to it last time (Cheers Vic :p) - Would the OcUK corp have me back? :)

So of those comments are brillaint.

"HAHA OMG BOB SUCK, THEYRE CRAP!"

Yet these same people say "don't care" about what bob does or achives, so clearley they do, and they are clearly the sad ones for getting so worked up about some pixels and £7.50 a month.

That was epic win from SF

I'm sure people dispise bob because they're so evil, but when an alliance gets that big there's bound to be some idiots in it. They're real good pvpers and their past history tells you that, amongst other things too. I don't hold anything against them, but like in all alliances you get those people joining bob (or any big alliance for that matter) just to get the bob alliance tag to become supposedly a little more intimidating. And it's these guys that give alliances a bad name.

Bob certainly found a formula that worked on the tournament, as you can see they kind of kick the crap out of all challengers as past tournaments have deduced for us, so their setup was very solid. I think everyone tries to primary the raven first, but since their fleet setups are so different, not everyone gets there the same time, so the raven ends up killing anything very quickly.

Not too sure if anyone has tried sniping across that 70km void, but you'd be sacrificing some tank for locking and tracking mods..... hmmm, worth thinking about. Star Fraction could use the 10 x thorax method for a lot of things, but there are many ways to beat it (like 10x mwd sniping ruptures for example), it's just in this case, it was perfect for defeating the bob fleet.

The great thing about having 10 of 1 ship, is you don't know who is doing what, and roles can be switched easily each time, whereas with bob, you could guess at a glance what they were going to be doing before you started and therefore who you're going to primary first.

It was a really clever match anyhow, can't wait to see more.

10x thorax with ECM drones are deadly, the fight was awesome to watch because it could have gone either way with a different roll of the dice.

There is no ultimate setup in the tournament, even the stealth bomber/logistics could have been beaten if someone was able to play to its weakness to alpha strike.

Ok ive finished the tutorial, now what?
ive got no agen contacts should i go to the nearest system and find another space station to see if theres any jobs?

If I remember correctly, you do missions for the agents in the station you start in, and then you are recommended or contacted by someone of the same agent corporation or state.

Their meta gaming and general attitude is why I don't (well, didn't - I don't play anymore) like them. They win by making the game unpleasant for others, and use *every* advantage available to them, be it underhand, or not, rather than use their so called "superior" pvp abilities. They also very cleverly pick their targets which are at breaking point anyway, then sweep in and claim "victory"
