SG05 What cards are people running in theirs?

Obviously the PSU is going to be the biggest problem. Nobody knows what HD5870/5850 will draw, they might be too much for it.

Silverstone officially support the GTS250 and HD4850 as the fastest cards that will fit the SG05. I've seen an HD4870 in one working, but I think it's very close to the line. As the HD4890 is more efficient than the 4870, one of those should work fine too.

Do the 4870/4890s fit?

I've got an SG06 and I thought the max lentth for both was 22.8cm?

I think people underestimate the PSU, the Silverstone ones are pretty decent. I'm currently just running my 9300 internal gfx, waiting on the 5850 I hope. Any idea on card length?

I believe they do with a bit of work. Basically you need to plug the 6 pin power in first, then put the card in the slot.

But as said, it goes right up to the front panel so you won't get the power connectors in if you put the card in it's slot first.

SG05 :D

EDIT: Isn't the SG06 identical, just a different facia?

Got my Powercolor HD 4890 - RAMMED it into the case, it fits, but only by around half a millimetre, never had to go so far to wedge in a component - it's awesome though, I am so happy with it.

Think this is a nice little LAN box - Q8200, HD4890, 4gb RAM, 1tb HDD :D :D

that 1gb hdd must be a bit lacking :P

Hardest part I found about fitting the 487/90 into this case was the power leads, nightmare.

than when you look through the cases vents you can see the radeon :o and thats about it :D

Oops, the T and the G are too close together!

The cables are the problem, I was at a loss as to how to do it, but I removed the case fan and grill and wedged the cables in from that way - you wouldn't want it any tighter. I think a 260 GTX will be okay to fit, but only just.

Thats what im thinkgin as the conectors are on the top which "should" help, its gonna be tight though.. Just kills me to buy a gts250 for around the same price when a GTX260 will probably do this rig for 2 years..

That's why I was stalling so much buying a card too. The HD4850 or 250GTS (which is old tech) really pained me when I had the money for something better. I was sorely tempted to wait for an HD5850 or similar, as the perf would probably beat an HD4890 in a smaller, less power consulming package - but for how much more money? And when? The HD4890 is awesome, had a little go on Crysis last night (at 1920, 8xAA, High settings) and it looked so good. It was loud under load, but not idle/surfing/just using Windows 7. Seeing as it fits, I am so pleased!

gutted if it doesnt, i could add to current rig as physx but think thats taking the pee! lol

Current rig only pulls 550w fully loaded so id be surprised it the mini ITX pulled close to half that...
