SG05 What cards are people running in theirs?

physiX does things right in one way by using the GPU but the way the put it in is bad thats why its useless I m sorry but it is

PhysX is, indeed, not that important, but CUDA can be, at least to some people. Look at how the NVidia cards perform in folding@home, it is all CUDA-related. The Portland Group has released C++ and Fortran compilers that make full use of CUDA and allow NVidia equipped systems to run floating-point intensive codes more than 10x faster.

Hi guys,
I have been thinking about this for a while now as well. Planning on buying very soon, but a little concerned about the power supply. I am currently running an Intel e8500 CPU, Corsair 2xGB RAM + dominator fans, ATI HD4870 512MB and plan to be putting all of those onto a Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX, and then into the SG06.

I was also going to get the Scythe Shuriken CPU cooler, and am currently looking into the Thermaltake ISGC-V320 VGA Cooler.

My main questions however are:
Will this setup even fit in the case?
Will this work due to the power constraints?
Will it be too hot when it runs?

It would be great to have a little input from people that have been building in these cases.

So for fun I tried putting my 4870 in my SG05 last night. All I can say is, wow. What a mission! I really had to cram it in. Took me about 25 minutes to manoeuvre it in there. Then another 10 minutes to wiggle the two 6pin power cables in. It just simply would not go in with the power connectors attached first.

I am running a Zotac 9300 miniITX wifi board, E5400 CPU @ 3.1GHz, 2GB OCZ DDR800 at around DDR900, 1 x 500GB Seagate 7200rpm drive and now the ATI 4870 512MB card. (This card has a custom bios flashed to it, increasing the vGPU ever so slightly and setting stock clocks to 795mhz on core and 1100mhz (4400 effective on the RAM).

The PCI bracket (Backplate) section of the card was what was causing the issue getting it in, after pushing out on the inside of my case I was able to just push the card in.

Heat doesn't seem to be a problem so far (ran some 3D mark benches with the chassis closed, fan speed on 35%). It is quite noisy though.

I took some pics and a short video, so I'll see if I can post those up a bit later after work today.

Would something like a 5770 fit?

I'm looking at treating my girlfriend to a new graphics card for her Sugo... she's still running an 8800GT

I'm looking to order the parts for my new SG05 build soon, this is what I'm thinking...

Core i3-530
DFI Lanparty MI P55-T36
4GB Patriot DDR3 (on offer)
HD5850
SG05 w/300W PSU

Should be an interesting one... :D

Well for those of you looking for proof of an ATI 4870 running in a SG05 with 300w PSU, I have some pics (and video) of mine up here: http://www.shogan.co.uk/?p=353

PS Tute, I think that spec should run just fine. I am not going to permanently run a 4870 in mine, I think I'll be getting a 5770 soon to run in this rig.
