Ok... 'X' for numbers and the rule on page one states:
X = Any beer BUT must contain a number in its name (actual or written) - 12th January

Repta, I was close to entering that beer!

My beer review from another website:
I HATE whisky/barrel aged beer. I've never had one that I've enjoyed. The 1488 by Killibardine isn't awful, I've had a lot worse from Brewdog and others but it's not great. Not that well balanced, and quite malty which throws a fair bit of sweetness in there. Not that much of a whisky taste but lots of fruit.

No way is Lone a number.

My beer was a bit crap though three points is always nice. Mike is lucky as I was going to enter 5am Saint!

Sorry maccapacca, can't vote on Lone Star, though my missus disagrees with me. :(

Also belmit what's yours like? And Dj is yours also you zoo entry?! :p

Funny you should say that.... I bought it agesssss ago and was going to enter it for that, then I found something else for Zoo :D

Forgot to say, I was a tad worried as I've seen it pop up quite a few times in 'Now Drinking...' as it's a lovely beer :)

My Beavertown was great and would recommend it if you can find it.

Had the chance of some West Vleteren 8 or 12 this week but passed on due to the price. Thought of entering the Brooklyn No. 2 just because the name amuses me but decided against it.

Voting to allow Lone as it does contain the word one after all and we have let people off for worse.

Oooo! Zoo round is now a mystery :p

I will look out for the beer now just because the girraffe has a brilliant expression on the bottle. :D

I've just noticed the number in Lone Star.

I think the rule was pretty obvious that the number had to be the 'main' bit. l'ONE' hardly counts for me.

Lads and ladetts (it'll end up in the now drinking thread) but look at that head! Even my cat agrees that the best head you can get...

It is a lovely beer and deffo worth trying :) The name for it came from one of the Williams Bros. daughters :D

I look forward to finding it one day! The name has me sold... :D

Where does Lone Star not contain an number in it's name?

Oh I hadn't seen the Lone in the name, but I stand by that really wasn't what the numbers round was implying...

Just home from a Sat back shift - and another three points \o/ :D

I can also thoroughly recommend my competition choice this week too - definitely the best tasting beer I've had :)

Also, the Lone entry - granted it does have a number in it's name but I was under the impression the rules were pretty clear on this point in that the number had to be the main bit of the name with it either being a lettered (ABC) or numbered (123) option!

Nothing decided till ALL votes from above are in.

You'll find Seven Giraffes in Tesco pingwing.

NIce head that, I don't know much about French beer. Will have to see if I can source some.

Ah cool! Will roll out to a big Tescos in the near future to give it a bash!

It's pretty much the best French beer out there, tried a fair few French beers and 3 monts was something to enjoy (its in the 1001 beers you must try before you die from my secret santa which is a good second endorsement)

Mike is lucky as I was going to enter 5am Saint!

I am and so are you, the 1845 was the beer I was originally going to enter! :D So glad I changed my mind. My other option was 6X.

2ndly mike excellent entry 5am saint is quality

Lovely beer. :) Never had it before. :o Must get some more. :D

As for Macca, I think he has been very clever as his beer does contain a number in it's name. I suppose the question is whether or not it's in the spirit of the competition, i'e should it have been like the others entered. Were the rules ever clarified that it would have to be '1' or 'One' on its own (not part of a word)? As as it stands then I am willing to vote yes. (because I'm in a good mood this morning)

Torn on this. It's a word that has a number within it. Could understand if this was a difficult round but it has a bit of a 'It doesn't state explicitly that I can't enter a cat in the dog show' feel to it. I'd have to side with no.

Also belmit what's yours like?

Pretty delicious! A lot of Belgian beers are very high percentages and I don't get on well with them because they taste a bit syrupy, but this was 5.4% and comparably light.
