Hi,

I have a 750D with 4x Enermax Fans available and 2x SP120's, with the spec in my sig. I have the two SP120 fans in the front and those will probably be staying there, however I don't know what to do with the rest of the fans.

I currently have 1 of the Enermax fans out of the case, one as rear exhaust, one as top exhaust and one in the bottom where the first HDD cage should be which is currently not running. What would be the optimal config for me to run the fans?

Cheers,

Shiv

Hi Shiv, take a look at my build in the build logs: Phoenix Prime. Smogsy made some posts about his config and his temps are brilliant on air. I also took some inspiration from him on that one. Page 3 is where he posts his findings with the 750D.

I've currently got the top and rear exhausts (the top two are my rad fans) and two notcua in the front as intakes. Though not sure my setup is optimal to be honest, still, take a look at Smogsy's suggestions - he's in the know!

really need to see a picture to see what CPU orientation you have, which type of GPU (Blower/AIB) etc.

Send me a quick side shot & i shall help you out :D

also a link to the Emermax Fans (see Pressure/CFM etc)

Okay no problem, if you look in my build log in sig there should be pictures of the card. It's not a blower, it dumps it's air into the case. Here are the fans, also have 2 SP120 quiet editions pwm.http://www.enermax.co.uk/cluster/

These are pwm also. I'd like to keep them so they speed up and slow down like I set them.

They are 12cm 120mm btw

Well then,

Bottom Front - is pointless due to HDD cages stopping most of the air.

Way #1
Top Front -Intake - Around 80% speed (whatever noise is comfortable really)
Left Bottom - Intake - Around 80% (requires removal of second HDD cage though)

Exhaust
Back Fan Running MAX of 50% of its speed.
or you can take it out all together, your CPU will most likely be cooler with it in though.

not many much options with both HDD cages :(

do you need both?

Sorry, should have made it clearer. One of the HDD cages is already out, the one furthest from the front (that picture is a bit dated) :) In it's place in the bottom is 1x Enermax fan
I need one though, yes

ok so,

2 quiet (corsair) front fans running at 60%+ (decide yourself on noise that suits you) ofc you can PWM these depending on usage
1 back fan running Max at 50% (emermax)

this will be best. :)

So I will have 3 fans spare? :D

and the two front fans on the front panel or one in the bottom?

both on front. as you have the 1 spare gap between that and hdd cage, shouldnt matter alternatively you could put hdd cage closet to the bottom front7 fan and moving front bottom fan to position 2 of the bottom, its trial & error depending on room arrangement :)

also i would suggest taking the top dust filter off, this way as heat rises it goes right out the case rather than trying get through the small dust filter gaps :) (you could try with it on & off)

thiis method is positive air pressure so any hot air wil;l be forced out by nature of design of the fan arrangement. so hot air will be forced out of the top of case :)
