Viewsonic VX2025 backlight bleed

Backlight bleed is a standard feature on lcd monitors, although that does look a rarther then larger then normal ammount. Is that exactly how it looks or has the camera exadurated it abit (i hate the auto light settings on digital cameras)

That is exactally what mine looked like too. Had to send it back in the end as I found the games I play have dark backgrounds more often than not. Shame as apart from the bleed it is a good all rounder. :(

theyve referred me to Viewsonic, Im not too happy about this as I believe legally Oclockers may be responsible under distance selling laws etc.

Under the 7 day distance selling regs you can send it back no matter what the reason is. Just tell them you are not happy with it and you want to return it under the 7 day long distance selling law. They have to take it back. If you RMA it to Viewsonic they will supply you with a 'refurbished' (2nd hand) TFT!!!

I just got my VX2025 and it's got the same backlight bleed issue. I also have a VX922 which is perfect in comparison. I am thinking of returning the 2025 under distance selling act, and keeping the 922. While it looses out on width, it gains in height.

Well Ive come to the conclusion that the bleed level is not noticed in any games I play. If it becomes more noticeable I'll exercise my 3 year Viewsonic warranty.

tell me about it I am on monitor number 3 from viewsonic all having the same problem.

Organising a refund as we speak.

Are the any 20" widescreens that are not plagued by this problem?
I Think they need a rethink on the manufacturing process.

To many reports of the same problem

Hey, things have got better...only slight bleed from 2 corners, and the corner on the left which had about 4" square of bleed is reduced in size. Hopefully it will get even better soon. My VX922 has zero bleed.

Hmmm...what about keeping both of them for dual monitor usage. Would the different res and sizes cause eye problems over time your reckon. I could play games on the VX922 that cant hack 1680 on the 2025 or wont run native in that res.

not the same make but i had the same on my first dell 2001 fp but it turned out 2 be a bad batch
i got it changed and dont get any bleed at all now
mabey these are the same just a bad batch

and footman i think with the first years waranty it goes back 2 ocuk after that viewsonic

i got one of these viewsonics yeterday...and it does have a very slight backlight bleed...but nowhere as much as that pic. I would be bitterly disapoined if mine was like that also. Doe it interfere ie. can you see it at windows desktop?
