Are these the files I need to get it running on a A64 San Diego 3700+ system?
Windows 5.12_IPP_SSE2 and Boinc 5.2.13 Windows SSE2 and the updated app_info.xml

You need Windows 5.12_IPP_SSE2 and app_info.xml
not the optimised boinc app, use this http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php
you are after the 5.4.9 version, no need to use an optimised boinc for enhanced as it works credit out differently - optimisation of boinc makes no diifference.

This is what I did
1. uninstall boinc,
2. install 5.4.9 boinc and let it download work.
3. stop boinc and back up boinc folder,
4. go to the seti@home projects folder in boinc and paste in the app-info.xml file and the optimised seti app in this folder.
5. restart boinc.

this same as you did with the old optimised app.

any problems do the above, but between parts 1 and 2 find the boinc folder and manually delete it, you may have to merge computers under your account in seti if you do this.

Also had a few Enhanced WU's I think as the crunching time was longer but I am not bothered.

Enhanced cruching time can be a lot longer, but more credits per wu.

And also more memory used, right now the Seti client is using 60Mb and when I came home there were two instances of Seti open with one running :confused:

Yep, enhanced uses approx 60mb as opposed to 30megs, as for the 2 wu's, was 1 preempted or just stuck?? Preempted is ok, stuck isn't.

I let boinc download both the enhanced client and the stardard one then swapped in the optimized enhanced and optimized standard clients and appinfo file, that way im covered no matter what units i get.

All of my machines are running enhanced now except my parents machine. Not sure if it'll meet the deadlines as they dont use it much.

One way to find out

Also try " you must leave it on to download - Windows updates, antivirus updates, AV scans overnight etc...... so it doesn't interupt your computing pleasure "

Are all the WU's they send out now Enhanced WU's?

I ask because the crunching time for the last units my machine did are all between 5,600 seconds and 10,000 seconds when previously a WU was crunched in under 3,000 seconds.

not again!! is anyone having difficulties downloading new work? Ive got a few crunchers that are idle due to this and the only server SETI say is offline is Database Perge and the upload/download server is said to be online.

edit: has seti gone the way of enhanced now and the version im running is out of date as it were? the normal seti and boinc thats been running since classic finished that is?

nope all fine here downloading,
seti has gone all enhanced, no more standard wu's you need to upgrade, probably why you arn't getting anymore work, see a few posts up on how to do it.

Are you guys using optomized clients for enhanced as some dont seem to work, for an Athlon t-bird I cant find one suitable and the times are looking sky high, just hope the credit reflects how much CPU time and MFLOPS have been put into each WU.

On my Dual PIII's SETI is only using one CPU and I cant seem to sort this, any ideas?

I have got the latest BOINC client and its doing enhanced WUs and everything but when I try to use Crunch3r's app it stops working

I get the following error

This box is an XP2500, so I put the SSE1 version of the app and app_info.xml into the projects directory... which is right I think :confused:

I don't think it was downloading new WUs for some reason :confused:

I deleted everything and started again and it seem to be working again. I did exactly the same thing on my main rig (Pentium D) and it worked first time

Maybe there were some WU's already in your cache that could not work after cchanging the client?

are you using win98, if its win2000 or later then Crunch3rs 5.12 works with 5.15 as 5.15 only fixes a bug with win98.
