it posts into windows... and performs normally, but there are atrifacts covering the screen, tired flashing it to the new bios and still no joy:(

this mean its ready for the bin?

One of my friends had his fan break down on his. He ran it for a few months before it totally started to freeze up. When I finally got to it the thermal paste was absolutely solid. Basically had to sit there for an hour carefully trying to get it all off.

Anyway, in the end we dumped an arctic cooler on it that I had laying about the house and it cleared up all of the heat issues. Its still working 6 months later. Hopefully it shouldn't go wrong any time soon, touch wood.

Might wanna see if you can get an arctic cooler for it if you don't have the cash to spend on a new card, of course this isnt garunteed to work and could end up just wasting cash that coulda gone towards a new card.

ive put on arctic silver2..and re-sat everything but the artifacts are there from the start....the moment i turn the pc on, which makes me think its not heat related as its not given a chance....

I have same card and have same problems it's gotten worse over time it's not down to over heating as I'ver never overclocked mine and I also put a better cooler on it. The cooler did not help. So I guess it's just a badly designed card if they common for this.
