Upgrade time

My mums gonna pay for an upgrade for my pc (See in sig for current rig)

Right, what i've come up with for so far is the following.

Do you really need a 700 watt PSU?

Looking at ATi's specification for crossfire, yes

I want the option to add a second X1900 card so I may aswell get the PSU for it as well.

Might wanna get better RAM perhaps, lower the graphics card a bit, get a lower wattage, lower priced but well known PSU, Seasonic perhaps, or Antec (ignore the other thread, it lies!!) - Get 2 x 1gb Dual Channel OCZ stuff

Well I'm happy with my RAM ATM. I can't really see that I'll get that much of a performance increase from my current RAM to some special stuff.

Plus I don't wanna spend TOO much on it.

I choose the GFX card for future-proofness and the PSU is a good one anyway. If I'm getting a full system upgrade, I might as well go the full way.


As a side note, which is better?

MSI RD480 or Asus A8R-MVP

The MSI has gigabit LAN where as the ASUS does not. What other major differences would their be between the two?
