No real changes from the Wanadoo services, but the big news is that Orange Pay Monthly customers (on £30+ talk plans) can get the 2Gb capped, ≤8Meg, £17.99 service for nowt :)

Now, Orange (Wanadoo) do an uncapped service for £27.99. It'd be nice if they'd apply the same discount to this, but there's no mention on the site... Anyone with some inside information (I'm looking at you, Dolph ;)) care to shed some light?

i dont understand ?

so basically anyone with a £30+ p/m contract with orange can get broadband for free? is that what you mean

surely thats good though ? 2gb capped or not ?

how do you go about getting this free broadband then, and are you contracted at all

LOL it aint free, seeing as you rpaying them £30 a month anyways for a 2gb capped service with 8mb speed....nice try orange...altho i can see a few numpties out there getting caught out by this....

ooooh look free broadband service
Really is it free??
Yup as long as your an orange customer paying £30 a month then its free
Ummmm no its not free...your paying £30 per month for a 2gb capped service
Ohhh i see....hmmmm

Ultimately you are paying for the service as far as i can see...via your monthly line rental ;):p...nothing in this world is free lads :p

yes i see what you are saying but look at it from my point of view:

still living at home with parents - using dial up, i.e. stone age !

have a orange contract mobile phone - way more than £30 a month

so why would it be a bad thing for me to get "free" 2gb capped broadband ?

also has anyone got a link to this supposedly free broadband

Yes but if your an existing Orange Customer who pays over £30 a month then i guess in a way it is free because its not something you planned on having when you 1st got the contract.

Getting caught by what, exactly? you're paying them the same £30+ a month for the phone service you're already getting, and getting a £17.99 service tacked on for nowt. For goody, and other people in his situation, it's a cracking deal :)

I just want to know it they're offering the same discount on their proper service :p ;)

cheers doug thanks for the link mate, i'm going to have a good look into this and make sure there are no catches etc. but if i can get it for free - 2gb capped or not, i'l be well chuffed !

i'v kind of found a catch, not much of one though:

less than 3 months
left on your contract?:

You'll need to start a new contract with us for 12, 18 or 24 months. Sign up for 18 months or more and you can get a new phone.

more than 3 months
left on your contract? :

Simply restart your contract for the same amount of time. For example, if you're in month five of your 18 month contract, you can stay for another 18 months.

so basically you have to either upgrade or renew your current contract to get it, not too bad as im renewing mine in july anyway so i'l have to sort it out then

thanks again doug

If you want the broadband max package, instead of the 2gb capped one, you can have it for £10 a month (instead of £28) if you would qualify for the free capped broadband.

And as already said, the only 'catch' if you like is that you have to commit on your orange phone contract, but other than that (and given that most people are contracted for one length of time or another) it's a good deal, especially as you get the wifi router (the livebox) and wireless and talk included with free evening and weekend calls (to landlines) on the livebox with the standard package and free calls on the livebox to landlines and orange phones with the max package.

It may not suit everyone, some people may not like it, but not every deal is for everyone.

Do you need a BT home phone line, or will Orange provide one? It sounds like a very good way to get cheap internet.

You'll need some sort of BT line in, so you'll be subject to the line rental of that as you would normally with any other ADSL package.

Cheers, mate, just the info I was after. My 12 months is up at the end of september, so the money I save on this can go towards my upgrade :D

Eh? Miss the point much? :p

£30 on your phone contract, (which you'd be paying anyway) for £18.99 off their broadband service...

I completely agree that the 2Gb capped service is cack ;) that's why I'm glad the offer applies to the uncapped service too :)
