Developed by EA Black Box in Vancouver, British Columbia, Need for Speed Carbon delivers the next generation of adrenaline-filled street racing and will challenge players to face the ultimate test of driving skill on treacherous canyon roads.

"We pride ourselves on our ability to reinvent the franchise and continually uncover new and exciting trends in car culture. Canyon Racing is a real test of a driver’s skill and we think it provides a fantastic game play opportunity to lean into," said Larry LaPierre, the game's executive producer.

What starts in the city is settled in the canyons as Need for Speed Carbon immerses you into the world’s most dangerous and adrenaline-filled form of street racing. You and your crew must race in an all-out war for the city, risking everything to take over your rivals’ neighbourhoods one block at a time. As the police turn up the heat, the battle ultimately shifts to Carbon Canyon, where territories and reputations can be lost on every perilous curve. Need for Speed Carbon delivers the next generation of customisation giving you the power to design and tweak your crew’s cars in every way using the ground-breaking new Autosculpt™ technology. Represent your car class, your crew, and your turf in Need for Speed Carbon, the next revolution in racing games.

Need for Speed Carbon will be available for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Wii™ as well as the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox® videogame system from Microsoft, Nintendo GameCube™, Nintendo DS™, Game Boy® Advance, PSP™ (PlayStation Portable) handheld entertainment system, PC and mobile.

The fast and the furious tokyo cash-in.

Doubt it'll have much to interest me. B*****ising cars and unrealistic environments which are always dark... boring really.

Most wanted was fun, but now we're back into halfrauds territory.

Screenshots do look impressive. I just hope you don't have to do AS many police chases getting endless amounts of bounty etc.. As that got a tad boring when it was all you had left on MostWanted.

;)

Road Challenge/High Stakes was still the best IMO

Absolutely loved that game. Played it through serveral times. I remember the long windy snoow covered track at the end was a real PITA.

I didnt like NFSMW or NFSU2 very much so not too excited by Carbon to be honest.

good...its back to dark again. Was too keen on the muggy coulours and daylight in MW. for X-Box 360 I thought it might look better....doesnt look much better than the last need for speeds looked at high settings on PC.

I hope its not all set at night. I hate games like that.

As long as they basically keep the Most wanted formula but improve on it then it will be ok.

As long as they get rid of catch-up in single-player then I'll be buying.
Tbh true. It totally ruined most wanted for me, which was a game that could have been so good. I too hope its not set entirely at night like NFSU2, which became so tedious because of it.

Agreed all the latest ones have been too dark with bland unrealistic environments which is a real shame when you think what they could do with the latest graphics technologies.

I wished they just returned to the old style NFS with supercars and non of this scally lark and groin-grasping hiphop. :(
