I use Gallery very customisable and very free...

Ive tried a few of the ones listed above and stuck with Gallery as I found it easiest to install and setup how I liked it.

Great thread. I'm using simpleviewer curently but was thinking of changing, this thread will be useful

In case anyone isn't already aware simpleviewer is now available as a skin for jalbum. It'smuch easier to use than the original software.

Well I use Pixelpost and a modified theme and have been happy with it for ages. Never did like Simple viewer and Imagevue seems all bells and whistles but just too ott tbh, but each to their own.

Good thread thoigh !

I've corrected Imagevue - no idea how that happened apart from me being thicker than a brick sandwich.

Added Minigal to the original post too.

Cheers. :D

Sion/~Flibster *who's still trying to get phpBB working as a gallery... I really have nothing better to do.*

superb thread. thanks for doing that Simon. Really helpful.

Was only lookign last wek at the possibilities for a new gallery...

I'd tentitively put forward Extensis Portfolio Netpublish. It's not very good though, and is just a bolt on to the Portfolio software (commercial), which is rather good. :)

Gallery is the daddy of free options but it can be   - it's also not too nice to servers under heavy load....tip: if you're on shared hosting, don't e-mail 10,000 people and tell them to check out the new gallery  :D

Simplegal (by our very own robmiller) is often my weapon of choice as it's so...simple, yet effective :)

Added the other new ones.

I was sure I had Gallery in there - looks like I missed it on the copy and paste... Oh well - it's added now. :D

Cheers.

I'm now working to see if phpBB can be modified to be a gallery. Looks hopefull at the moment.

Google picasa has a free web gallery feature. All you need is a google mail account and then you those login details to access images you post.

Download google picasa from here:

http://picasa.google.co.uk/#utm_cam...emea-uk-google&utm_medium=ha&utm_term=picassa

Install that, and once you have a google account, select an album on the picasa interface and click "web Album" button at the bottom.

Its only a trial at the moment, but those from motors will know that it works quite well indeed.

You get 250MB of space to start with, but i would imagin that when the code is approved and its testing phase ends, that amount will increase a lot.

That looks like a good one - With Google behind Picasa it's getting much better.

Anyway - added yet another one - Invision Gallery.
