This is not supposed to be finger up at those who have Hiper psus and have no problems btw, just a bit of fun, and it is genuinely interesing to know how many people have actually had one of these die, explode, or kill some components.

Thank You :p

LOL :D

Now where did you get this idea from ?? :p

Can't imagine... :p

On a serious note, it would be good to get some actual figures of how many of these things have caused problems, to see if they really are that bad.

So, disgruntled Hiper psu owners and ex-owners please make yourselves known...

Totally agree , my thread was an attempt to obtain positive , and yours negative.

Balanced and totally justified.

Yup. :)
Should be interesting if anyone bothers to reply.

I'm specifically looking at the Hiper Type r 580w Modular ( amend your criteria )

Other Hipers can be listed with an affiliate status , just to keep this fair :)

Mark

( i will now stop posting in your thread, for risk of trashing it )

Edited. :)
If lots of people report other Hipers failing i'll create some separate stats for them.

If no-body posts i'll search the forums and find them myself.

Just thought I'd post to add a bit of diversity :p

Mine did make a clicking sound at one point when on high load, although it was just the fan I think so it's not really a proepr issue, just a minor annoyance. I'm not even sure if it does it now, haven't heard it for a long time so I guess not :p

Can't really count that as a failure.

I don't understand it, in threads where someone is considering buying a Hiper or has a Hiper loads of people appear to say bad things about them, where are you all?

Unfortunately much as i dislike Hipers i've never actually had one so i can't add myself.

*stands up* my names elfy and i'm a former hiper 580 modular owner
*crowd roars welcome*
let's travel back in time, the date: december 3rd, the year: 2006
Dawn, well, dawns. man rises from depths of sleep, sticks kettle on and wanders to computer and turns on. a flash, a bang, a quick spark emerges, computer lays unresponsive. Man promptly rings work claiming food poisoning and sets about taking computer apart and testing components in second computer. woman comes down, glares at her lack of sims playability on second computer and makes coffee. all components check out, with ph34r man puts hiper in second computer, a flash, a bang, a quick spark emerges, man removes hiper chucks it at the wall. man pokes woman with molex cable till she takes him to (edit)some evil pc shop(/edit) and he buys jeantech storm, 4 pints of milk and a copy of custom pc. couple returns home all and lo, all computers work ok. much rejoicing is had by all. hiper ends up in bin. more rejoicing is had.
