Don't think this has been done in a while/at all. Basically, you say at what age you got your first car, what it was, and how much it cost you, and how much your first year of insurance was.

Frankly, it was rubbish. 65 tops unless slipstreaming someone, rolled like an RNLI lifeboat on the north sea and had black leatherette which melted onto you in summer. Still loved it though.

It was more luck than judgement really since I knew very little about cars, I just wanted the biggest engine I could insure at the time ;). I didn't even test drive it having not passed my test at the time. Despite that, it was an absolutely brilliant car and took a lot of abuse in my first year of driving.

Since then... Omega 3.0l Elite, Citroen ZX 2.0 16v, Peugeot 405 1.9 SRI, Vauxhall Cavalier 2.0i LS, Omega 2.5l CD, 2007 \o/ A6 2.0 TDI. I've actually gone down in the performance stakes :p.
