seagate hd pauses

in xp my hds are fine but in vista i get intermittent pauses then the hd spins up makes a little beep and carries on its really annoying can anyone help ?
ther near enuff new ? its the one with vista on ???? :confused:

Have you checked that it's not set to spin down in the power options part of control panel?

I was wondering why when accessing my RAID there was a delay.

Didn't notice the 'advanced' section of the power settings.

Ive done all that, and more to make a SATA HDD max in Vista as I posted in other threads, I still get pauses unraring files, was fine in XP and HD Benches are fine and no pauses, very weird.

Vista also makes the HDD very active a lot esp at start up but for ages afterwards.
