How does this look? AFAIK everything works together and is compatible, just wanted to see if anyone had any opinions about it/would change anything. Oh and i ordered a Samsung SM-245B 24" earlier so it will be hooked up to that

Keep the HX620 unless you want to save a few quid. I had the option also and opted for the bigger PSU as you never know what you'll add to the system that might need it.

Rest of the system is looking great :), I'm certainly enjoying my gaming at the moment ;). Not sure about the P35 boards with no experience with them but I doubt it should have any major problems but maybe best waiting on someone's advice that knows something about the board or have you seen some reviews at least.

I've been hunting round the forum's and looking at other people's builds that have them in and it looks like a good enough board, the only thing im worried about is the BIOS version on it not being up to date with the new 8400's.

But all i need to do is put the latest bios on a mem stick and then flash the bios? considering this is my first build, how easy is that :)

Seems like you're all set to go then. A nice BIOS flash and that should be you sorted. I hope that you will still continue to eat and sleep after getting this uber gaming rig. You will thoroughly enjoy :D.

Ok well it's all ordered and should be here on wednesday

Expect to see me back fretting when the thing wont turn on :D

i'll make sure i get some good pictures aswell

IT'S HERE!!

The guy in the postroom had me absolutely bricking it for a few minutes though. It had my mum's name on the delivery note so he was jerking around for a few minutes by saying "sorry got to send it back, nothing i can do" before he started laughing and gave me all the boxes :)

Can't start the build yet though because someone's doing work on the table (that's right, we do have some work to do;)) so i'm going to sit down and read everything etc while i wait

I've read the do's and don't thread aswell, but and last minute word's or wisdom?

as already mentioned really, just take ya time, check the mobo stands are set into the case and match the mobo, double check all connections.

most of all have fun :D

Build is currently underway, got the CPU and RAM on the mobo and just finished putting the mobo in the case :D should be done in a few hours hopefully

it's finished!

Posting on it now and it's running like a dream, just installing driver's atm and getting ready to run 3dmark and play some games.

he build went smoothly except for trying to fit the CPU cooler and a bit of trouble flashing the bios but other than that it couldn't have gone better :D

I'll put some pictures up at the weekend probably once i've had a chance to sort out the cabling inside
