Well in-fact it's the opposite of a dent, it's a bump!
Story: Today when using my MBP everything was fine, I then put it into it's InCase neoprene sleeve. When I got it out of my rucksack in Physics,:eek::eek: "What that bloody dent doing there"??

So, as it's right by the IR sensor, it's the 'lower case'.

What can I do about it? My MBP is still within it's 1yr warranty (and I bought the 3yrs AppleCare), but would they cover that?
SUggestions welcome.....

Looks like a laptop that someone uses. I wouldn't worry about it, there's no way it would be covered under AppleCare.

could go with warranty I guess, does it cover accidental damage? Or you could just live with it for now, I dropped my iPhone yesterday and put the first scratch and slight dent in it, unfortunately these things happen :(

that definately won't be covered by Applecare so don't even waste the phone call. I did mine in almost the same place. I fell on it, had the choice of dropping my little boy or he MBP. I was quoted £100 for the lower tray and something like £75 to have it fitted by an Apple service centre in Exeter. Ended up deciding to live with it.

You chose to drop a MBP over a child??

It took me a while to spot it, but I would be really annoyed with something like that!

Just because I know it's there it would bug me no end until it's fixed.

My point exactly! Also its far more noticeable in real life, when tying this I can see it! as the top edge of the bit sticking out is catching the light!

So, who/where & how much to have it fixed (or I guess have that part of the casing replaced)??

EDIT: Re were, local apple place's website (Farpoint) say they do repairs...but no mention of prices

I'm a few months of having my MBP a year. No dents. No scratches.*

When I took it in to have the top construction changed the Genius even made a comment about the condition it was in. :p

*Just a bit of 'slight' wear on the release clip, perhaps it didn't like the drink of tea I gave it?)
