Got this drive yesterday and more than pleased with it,runs quiet and very cool in my system. Its currently sitting inbetween two 500GB 7200.11`s and is 10c cooler than them at 21c.

That's impressive. A good 10 to 15 Mb/s faster compared to the seagate 250Gb single platter. Would be interesting to see two in raid 0 :-)

Is this now the largest capacity single platter drive? As I was considering the Seagate model, but it seemed of a bit of a sideways upgrade as I'm currently using 250GB Samsung.

Wonder how long before Seagate release a similar sized model.

Has it had the aquoustic mode enabled, or was it on as default? As I would be enabling it, so wondered if your graphs would be as impressive.

I know Samsung used to have a utility call hutil that worked in DOS to alter settings, if it's still the same for the F1 series.

Just how "quiet" is it? I want to replace my Raptor (I now use my PC as a HTPC and not a gaming machine).

Any reviews comparing noise/performance against similiar drives?

Read a review and they seem to be a very good option (almost as quiet as the WD GP 5400 RPM drives). Now I need to find out if I should get the F1 320 or WD 300 as a boot drive (single platter).

Edit: The WD 320 has slow access times so I guess the F1 is for me!

I think i'm going to replace my Raptor 150GB with one of these...

EDIT - Just ordered one, £52inc... seems about normal I spose. The Raptop will be on MM soon!

The 750GB's use 250gb platters, not the new 334GB ones. Doesnt mean itll be slow tho. That deal for £80 is a killer, I dont know how long I can hold off (until the offer ends I guess lol).

Good to see it is still quick with just one platter. I'm tempted to get one now :)

edit: ordered :p
