That's really bad :/
Wish SSD prices would go down, no more low access times and these insane transfer rates will actually have a real meaning :)

127MB/s is really really insane though, that's almost SATA speeds.

I'd love to see a bench of recent harddrives, in terms of windows startup, loading things etc. I'd like to know if there's really any point in upgrading my 500GB seagate 7200.10, i could use a 1tb drive but i'd like to avoid spending any money right now, unless these are faster too.

Look through the charts in this article - http://techreport.com/articles.x/14380 .

The 7200.10's were just awful.

Quite interested in these but confused as to why the access times are so high. I think I'll go for the 640GB WD as I think that the random access time of the Seagate would at least cancel out the high sequential read rate. In benchmarks I've seen, the previous 7200.11s did very well in database type applications, but if those seek times are accurate then these will be awful.

Anyone heard or know anything more as to why the access times are so high, Seagate firmware on this drive a bit dodgy perhaps?
