As above.. specifically when I open the new contacts/address book, or click the contacts tab in 'Phone', the iPhone seems to spend a LONG time figuring out what its doing...

It also does it quite a fair bit when I go through contacts and select text message, meaning the phone doesn't type the text quickly...

Probably just a little glitch, but I was wondering if anybody else was having similar issues?

Ta!

It's just because it's an early release, 2.1/2.2 should iron out the bugs.

Although saying that, mine is fine with the contacts. Have you tried restoring the iPhone?

I've not seen any issues with either my 2.0 upgraded iPhone 1 or my iPhone 3G.
TBH, the web browsing feels a little quickler (on wifi for common comms). I've certainly not noticed any performance issues with them so far.

Saw a single hard freeze in safari which I never saw in 1.14. Also a few pauses here and there - but given the amount of time saved in loading web pages even over wifi it seems, it comes out ahead!

I've found mine to run fine apart from skipping songs, 1.1.4 used to skip through them quite smoothly, 2.0 is quite a bit slower.

Mine seems pretty stable, I've hung the phone a few times but every time it was a 3rd party app and I managed to get the home screen back after several seconds. Haven't needed to power cycle it yet.

OK, my first performance issue.
I sync my iPhone with Outlook via iTunes for contacts and calendars.

Plug iPhone V1 in and it syncs in 5 to 10 seconds.
Plug iPhone 3G in and it syncs in 10 to 15 minutes.

No idea what's going on. Almost feels like it's downscaling to USB 1.1 as the backup of the setting takes something like 5 minutes.
