Free Crossover office PRO VERSION!

Just received my email with serial! :)

Their server is getting raped at the moment. I tried CrossOver a year or so ago without much luck, perhaps it has got better?

I've just got myself a serial but their main site is down so I can't register it yet. I wonder if this is part of their ploy - provide free serial codes but keep the site down long enough so that no-one can register their code.

Will be interesting to see how games run using this - I might be able to uninstall windows!

serial codes will end tonight and the site will revert back to normal. You then have 48hrs to register and activate your product.

As for games performance, i don't think anything 3d intensive is going to run well. Minesweeper might be okay

So we need to register for a free serial and download from the codeweavers site?

EDIT - ignore!

The download versions are now all full and unlocked, no need to register the code.

And you're wrong, I play Eve with the native Windows client in premium graphics mode all the time using CrossOver Games (I bought it a few months ago) and it's very good.

Anyone else been playing with this after downloading?

So far I've got CrossOverGames running sweet as a nut - Steam is up and running and I'm just downloading COD4 to see how it goes.

The only other thing I use Vista for at the moment is SkyAnytime and I'm having a bit more trouble with this. I can't seem to get Mediaplayer 11 or .Net 2.0 working through CrossOverPro...

I guess I can wait for their site to get back to normal and then post on their forums but until then - does anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Oh poo. I went on the website the other day during its 'down/streamlined' period.
I couldnt download so I entered my details for the code to be emailed to me, and I still haven't had anything.

Is it just me? Or have I missed the boat :(

Oh poosticks.

Actually never mind, I managed to get it elsewhere from someone who had downloaded it during the day.

I've since changed my mind about it - the lack of .net framework support really cripples it as far as I'm concerned. Also in cross-over games I got some graphics card driver errors and so nothing would run.

In the end I uninstalled and I'll just put up with Vista for the time being.

It's not marketed as a replacement to a full VM, if you expect it to be then you'll be sadly disappointed.
